Pros: Maximum playability, control, feel, spin potential. Great for tennis elbow. Cons: Bad for your wallet at $35 to string. Extremely difficult to string.

Babolat VS Team 17 gage gut quality control
by titello ,Jul 30 '08
Pros: Don't mind the cost because the feel is so great. But needs more life. Cons: Has not been lasting for more than 3 sets, it breaks. Same racket, same stringer?
I have Babolat string for years and have never had a problem with breaking strings until recently. Yet, I cannot get more than 3 sets out of the string job before it breaks, no off hits, not rim shots, just regular tennis. I've played with these rackets, strung with Babolat gut strings for over a year now, same make rackets, Head Metalix 4. Now the string breaks too fast, three sets maximum. Same rackets, same tension, same stringer, same player! I've changed the stringing system. Bought new rackets (same Head Metalix 4) but nothing seems to change the fact that the string BREAKS. What is the problem? The string is too expensive for poor quality. Someone needs to check quality control. I play in National tournaments and feel Balolat needs to live up to the reputation of great gut strings; which my peers and I have grown to expect. The string plus the stringing fee is getting out of hand. Help!
