Couldn't live without it
by bgc05 ,Jun 15 '06
Pros: Easy to use, comfortable for baby and wearer. Cons: None that I can think of!
After my first baby in October 2005 there was an adjustment period as far as getting to know each other and my new routine. :)
I soon realized the bjorn didn't just have to be for walks. I vacuumed in it, cooked in it and always felt like she was protected in early days. 8 months later my daughter is still in it. She giggles when she sees me putting it on. She can face out or she can face in and sleep on the walk.
I live in a city where it is difficult to get around with a stroller. Without the bjorn I would be lost. I also get a workout with her extra weight on me as I walk around.
At first it seemed really confusing , but once you figure it out one time it is really simple. Especially helpful are the clips on either side of the top. The front pad is comfortable for baby and made of a soft foam. The straps cross in the back, are comfortable and supportive.
Great item for a city mom or a mom with a newborn and another child.

Wow, should have bought the cheaper version
by simonsmommy ,Dec 05 '04
Pros: easy to adjust, fits many adults Cons: pricey and not practical for a long time
I did like my Baby Bjorn for the first three months of my son's life... However, once he hit the 16 pound mark, the leg openings got too tight and my son's legs would get pinched. I wish I would have gotten the Snugli (or a cheaper version of the Baby Bjorn). For three months, it certainly isn't worth the hefty pricetag. If you've got a lot of money to spare, then it's a good buy. If not, I would at least try the cheaper brands first to see if you can live with that before shelling out the $75.

Best carrier on the market!
by onourwayhome ,Oct 23 '04
Pros: easy to pack, hands free, well designed Cons: pricey
My husband and I were about to move across the country weeks after our first baby's arrival. The last thing we wanted was another big thing to move (IE a stroller). So we thought why not get a Baby Bjorn b/c we'd only heard good things about them. It's true they are pricey, but worth every penny. This allowed us to take our little on everywhere with ease (esp. good for crowded place or tight spots). There are directions right on it if you get confused, I admit it was a bit confusing in thee beginning, but once you get the hang of it you're set. As our daughter grows I use it less b/c my shoulders hurt after awhile not to mention, now that she's curious and grabbing things. My suggestion is pick one up on Ebay to save a little (as we did) or put it on your registry.

Best Purchase for Baby!
by maddieandisaak ,Dec 26 '03
Pros: comfortable, in or out facing, adjustable, durable, makes baby so happy, hands free. Cons: Not really able to nurse in it.
Baby Bjorn should be the first thing you purchase for your new baby. When given the choice between any other product (well, besides a carseat) and the baby bjorn I would choose the Baby Bjorn! I bought mine 5 years ago for my 1st daughter and we are still using it 3 kids later!

Like the look but hard to use
by jmarief ,May 30 '06
Pros: Nice design. Attractive. Cons: Hard to get on and adjusted.
I thought this thing was a pain to use. By the time I got the thing on I had already had enough. You need to get the manual out just to figure it out. My husband would have to help me get the thing on. I think the price is high for the amount of time you will use it. I purchased this new off of ebay. I used it for walks and around the house. My son is now 7 months old he he grew out of it last month.

Magic baby soother!
by megdawg ,Jan 13 '06
Pros: Baby loved it, hand's free, and baby can face away or toward you. Cons: Can be hot and it's benefits are short lived.
For babies 8 lbs / 21 inches through 22 lbs. This was absolutely one of our best purchases. I actually bought it used from a friend who has used it with her 2 children before us and we still had absolutely no problems with it. We used it regularly until our son was about 6 months old- even in the summer (although it was a little warm on especially hot days).
It was great for keeping him close when I wanted to get some work done or had to carry something. Often when he had trouble napping during the day, I could put him in the Bjorn facing me and he would go right to sleep. As he got a little older, he enjoyed facing out so he could see everyone! He liked it so much that occasionally I even strapped him in to go on a walk just to get him to stop crying.
My husband didn't like it quite as well (especially as our baby got older and longer) because sometimes his legs would hang down a little too far. It didn't bother me, but I do think after 15-16 pounds it's benefits begin to decrease.

Comfortable Carrier
by swimkoala ,Jan 12 '09
Pros: Comfortable, Easily Adjustable, Easy on Back, Small Pocket for Storage Cons: Baby quickly out grows the product
We bought this Babybjorn Original Baby Carrier for our son when he was first born. We started using it when he was about 3 weeks old and had more neck control. We found this carrier to be very comfortable for me at 5'4" and for my husband at 5'8". The straps are easy to adjust and the front pocket to hold keys in was nice. We both could carry our son it for hours without any back discomfort. Our son also found it comfortable enough to sleep in. By the time our son was 6 months old, he was too large to comfortably fit in the carrier so we had to retire this great piece of baby equipment. The only thing we wished is that the baby carrying section could adjust to a larger size. Overall, I would recommend this product to any new parent who wants to carry their baby while having their hands free.

Baby Bjorn is comfy
by miak02 ,Mar 20 '07
Pros: easy to use Cons: only can use for a short time
This was a really good thing when our baby was small. It is easy to use and wonderful for when you need to get some grocerys fast and the baby can just fall asleep i would highly recommended buying this product. It is a bit on the expensive side but well worth buying.

Not my style
by dreamydeppmama ,Jun 11 '06
Pros: There are no pros Cons: Hard to manage, not comfy, ugly.
I was given this as a gift and I hate it. I guess I am more of a sling wearer. I have tried this carrier a few times, but I never like how itès going so I always go back to one of my slings.

Back Breaker
by redlion72 ,Nov 13 '07
Pros: Very brief respite from carrying a newborn. Might be able to take a short walk. Cons: Makes back ache, cumbersome, baby feels claustrophobic, lack of support for younger babies.
I loved the idea of this product, but I could only stand wearing it for a few minutes at a time. It was a cumbersome set-up (my personal preference against a front carrier, I guess) and it made my back ache terribly (perhaps the Baby Bjorn design). My son did not like being in it for more than a few minutes at a time (forward or backward facing -- I did try at different times during his first months). I also felt vulnerable because I could not see my feet, and if I needed to get or see something he was often obstructing my view. I imagined hands-free life but it did not work that way. I couldn't type on the computer, etc. I was disappointed.
