Pros: Delicious; lots of vitamins and minerals. Cons: Lots of sugar!
I was in the gym the other day not having eaten. I was really hungry and feeling a bit weak. I bought a Balance Gold Bar for $1.50. They are delicious but let’s find out more.
Pros: tasteful energy bar that gives a boost of energy when you need it Cons: tastes too much like a candy bar, smaller than other energy bars
I am proud to say, I have joined the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training. I am currently training to walk the Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathon in June. Yes, loves2run is planning to “walk” a marathon. No, I haven’t given up running; I am...
Pros: Tastes like a Snickers bar. 15 grams of protein. 30-30-40. Cons: Melts easily.
For years, I had purchased the Balance Bars (marketed under 40-30-30 at Trader Joe's) in a variety of flavors, like Almond Brownie or Yogurt Berry. While they were one of the better tasting bars out there, they still tasted like an energy bar.

Pros: lots of vitamins and minerals and high amount of protein, energy lasts for a while Cons: a lot of sugar and decent amount of calories for the size
I had a coupon for Balance bars, so I decided to pick up a couple. I am not a huge chocolate fan and many of their flavors have chocolate in the name. I figured Balance Gold: Caramel Nut Blast would focus more on the filling than the chocolate ...
I have been eating the regular Balance Bars for years until they came out with the Balance Gold line. I'm hooked! These bars are like eating a candy bar, but they don't spike my blood sugar like candy does.
Pros: Taste and Nutritional balance Cons: Not all balance bars taste good so beware.
I am not a professional athlete, but I do work out regularly and practice martial arts. I've tried many bars over the years and this Balance has a very strong product line. I do not like all of the bars, but for my taste the Peanut Butter and Honey Peanut are the best. Peanut Butter is light, creamy and taste like the real thing. I've tried other balance bars, chocolate peanut butter (enjoyed), Smores (did not like), mint chocolate (did not like), raspberry chocolates (weird tasting, but I could get used to it) and rocky road (okay). Overall, I find the Peanut Butter and Honey Peanut Balance Bars to be the best tasting over Power Bars (a close second), MetRx, Odyssey, Prue Protein and the like. The 40, 30, 30 balance is also good for my snacks (as I eat 6 small meals aday) and 200 to 210 calories is about right for my snacks. Depending on my work outs, I may opt for a bar with more carbs (Power Bar for pre workout) or protein (Nitro Tech Bar for post work).
