Pros: Fun, educational, Barbie pretty! Cons: I have not found any worth telling about!
I have read others opinions on this product, and it seems too many are from people who do not own the Barbie PC! As I sit writing this now I am on the Barbie computer I bought for my girls, ages 7& 9. Since most of the schools are starting the kids...
Pros: alot of extras, financing available, informative website, Cons: poor customer service
Before the holidays, I had seen advertisements for this computer from Patriot and visited their website to get more information. I was impressed with what I had seen and pleased that they offered financing.
Pros: Great way to get your daughters to enjoy technology Cons: possibly the addition of more software but it can be bought separately
I bought the Barbie PC because I thought my daughter would enjoy it. And she does. It has been the best investment. initially, when I called in I was concerned about the price I was quoted on an upgraded "Signature" computer. I was wondering...
Pros: fun, a good learning experience, something all girls should have Cons: barbie is fake, that's that. But until she is somewhat correct use the PC to play with Barbie
Barbie's are a little girls dream doll. Almost every little girl wants a barbie that she can dress up and talk to! But how realistic is this doll with unusually perky breasts, shiny plastic skin, and a waist that few people in this world really...
Pros: Cute, Colorful, Software Cons: Discrepancies in what software Mattel thinks is appropriate for boys vs. girls
I have been thinking of buying the Barbie computer for my daughter, and saving it for a future birthday, so I checked out the opinions written here. There was only one, and after reading that one I decided I better take a closer look at the...
Pros: It looks good for the price Cons: Beware of poor customer service
In October, I noticed a printed ad regarding the Barbie Computer. I knew instantly this would be the perfect gift for my two girls 6 & 8. I ordered the product the third week of October. Today's date is January 29, 2000, and I have YET to receive...
Pros: Could be good educational tool for kids Cons: Big hassle just trying to get one
I have both a boy and a girl. This last year has been rough on both of them with the divorce, and then the May 3rd Tornado that took our home plus their grandparents home. I thought I would give them a fabulous Christmas this year to make up for it. On...
I ordered my computer on 10/99 and told if would be here for Christmas.
Not only once but three times. Customer Service very unprofessional. They don't return phone calls when you have questions or complaints. This company has been turned into the...
I ordered the computer, but cancelled. It is purchased through Patriot Computers in Canada . Very unprofessional. I would be cautious. I certainly would be afraid of not being able to get service if needed. I would certainly think Mattel would have...
Pros: comes with software for kids Cons: fewer educational software than HotWheels PC
For $599 you can get the real thing-- a normal computer for normal people. Why Barbie PC for girls and Hot Wheels PC for boys? Look closer at the two different computers and you will see blatant gender discrimination beyond the surface Barbie and Hot...
Pros: lots of kiddie software Cons: not all girls love Barbie and Barbie is not the only toy for girls, gender discrepancy
I'll just add a few pros for Mattel's kid computers to balance my earlier review on the striking differences between Barbie PC and HotWheels PC in the included software for the targeted female and male child market. While I do think a computer that is...
Pros: absolutely none, it would seem Cons: yep, I guess it WAS a *con*, huh? - CON ARTIST!
HEADS UP!
Per the story on WCVB-TV Boston tonight (12/19/00), people who ordered the Barbie PC (and, presumably, the Hot Wheels PC) will not get their money back, and evidently have no recourse.
Patriot Computer Hotwheels and Barbie by shaneland ,Nov 20 '04
Pros: Its hotwheels son loves hotwheels as do I Cons: Made of cheap parts but not really an issue to me
First off the Pc's mentioned here were made by Patirot Computer Company who contracted the use of the Hotwheels and Barbie names. I am sure the software packages were also in the deal. I dont think the company "meant" to have a gender discrepancy. Thats the way the deal just worked out. There are some slight problems with the computers being made from cheap parts but overall giving it as a gift to my son was far more rewarding to me then worrying about what software he got.
Being able to do my own computer repairs my sons PC is still working and still makes him happy. The computer is no where near top of the line and isnt good enough to play today's games but is still able to please him.
I am happy I bought this for him and sorry that all you people missed out...
