Pros: Healthy product for skin, non-irritating, very versatile, variety of colors Cons: Sometimes hard to find in-store, can spill
My interest in Bare Escentuals makeup started when I was looking for a foundation. After reading some information, and then seeing an infomercial, I knew I had to try this line of products. I was desperate for a product that was good for my skin, as I ...
Pros: Good quality; layerable; staying power; smooth; no creasing; tons of color choices Cons: Easy to spill (this is minor!).
One of the first Bare Escentuals products I tried was the Eyeshadow. Not to be confused with Glimmer (a sparkly shadow) or Glimpse (a shadow that is like a mixture of Eyeshadow and Glimmer), the Eyeshadow i ...
Pros: Wide variety of shades, applies on smoothly Cons: Pot container without a sifter
I love the wide variety of shades available for the Eye Shadow. I spent a lot of time at the Bare Minerals boutique play with the different shades and figuring out what would work and what wouldn't. I do not want something very bright as I can't pull ...
Pros: Huge variety of shades, chemical free, looks awesome! Cons: None!
I've really been having fun playing around with the Bare Escentuals makeup line. I first tried the foundation and from that moment on, I was hooked. I had to try the other products, and today I'm going to let you know what I think of the ...
Pros: HUGE variety of colors, easy to blend, easy to find. Cons: Pricey, easy to spill, no pressed powder shadows.
I began using Bare Escentuals (or BE) makeup a couple of years ago, after finally coming to the realization that any product containing talc or fragrance triggered an outbreak of eczema. I used the basic items in the BE starter kit (foundation, all-over ...
Pros: Long lasting, high quality eyeshadow made of natural minerals rather than chemicals. Cons: Loose powder can get messy if you're not careful.
Bare Escentuals is a totally incredible line of makeup that can't be beat. Since this is on the topic of their eye shadows, I will force myself to stay focused on that product alone. First of all, to find an eye shadow that isn't comprised of all ...
Pros: bare minerals....need I say more? Cons: creasing on oily lids
I love bare escentuals products but of all their products I have tried this is on the bottom of the list. I have trouble with a lot of creasing and loss of the eyeshadow altogether. This is a common problem for me as I have oily eyelids. I haven't found an eyeshadow that lasts yet. I have to use a base or primer to keep my eyeshadows on. As far as this product goes it's no better or worse, when it comes to lasting or creasing, than any other brand that I have tried.
I do like it better than other brands overall based on other reasons. I like the little pots of loose mineral powders and the colors. I really like bare minerals overall do to the fact that they are made of safe minerals. I love the way the makeup looks on me and the eyeshadow is no exception.
Have I sufficiently confused you with my review? I would highly recommend the product, but just know that if you have oily eyes like mine I would recommend a base or primer.
A product that is true to the hype! by keelyb ,Mar 02 '04
Pros: True color, great staying power, a little goes a long way Cons: A bit messy
I was skeptical and actually tried out my products by buying samples on ebay. This product actually is all that they claim. I finally found shadow that actually has pigment. No more buying that beautiful color and then getting home only to find out that the color goes on so sheer you'll never be able to apply enough. It's very versatile and a little goes a long way. I have been so pleased. I normally won't pay the money for expensive make-up but this has been well worth the money.
pretty colors but what a mess by kat68 ,Nov 15 '06
Pros: very pretty Cons: extremely messy, pot lids can be hard to open, weird brush
I bought an eye shadow quad when I bought the beginners kit of Bare escentuals from sephora. The colors are amazing and come in a long four pot case with a round brush that can only fit one way when the case is closed. The pots open up like a paint kit and can be a little stiff. I found the eyeshadow it's self messy to work with and even worse to apply. I had it dusted all over my white vanity and necessitated me running for a clorox wipe to clean my counter. As for application, I barely touched the completely round brush into the eyeshadow and tried to apply it but I had loose shadow all over my face. Then after I cleaned up I tried the dab, swirl, and tap method that you use for the rest of bare escentuals but that didn't work and resulted in another mess.
The other thing I thought was odd is that the applicator rush is completely round like a stencil. I would have preferred a regular brush. I love the foundation and blush but I'll stick with my usual cream shadows.
Not high quality shadow- creases badly by acorum ,Jul 22 '06
Pros: many pretty colors to choose from Cons: not high quality, causes creases in the eyes within a few hours
I was referred to this product from a few friends. I bought the whole line, including about 12 different eye shadows. I have not been pleased at all. This eye shadow creases so badly within a few hours. The shadow doesnt stay on at all.
Bare Escentuals Eyeshadows by wordywon ,Jun 19 '06
Pros: None Cons: Powder falls into eyes causing irritation.
I love the BE foundation - hate the eyeshadow. The powder falls in my eyes after it's applied and makes me blink like crazy the whole time I have it on. I have tried many colors, it's always the same thing. I usually last about 20 minutes then have to wash it all off.
