Pros: The title says it all. It's a game of strategy and hitting ships. Cons: It sometimes drags on and gets boring.
This is only a two player game for those who don't like the big family games like monopoly.
*THE OBJECT*
The object of the game is to sink each others five ships before the other player does.

Pros: Small, fun, uses luck and brains Cons: Hard to read numbers and letters
As a kid Battleship was in our game closet and was one that got a lot of use. I'm sure almost everyone knows the idea behind the game; sink your opponent's ships before they sink yours.
About a month ago my Nephew (who lives with us) spotted...

Pros: Good game for two people, you learn to concentrate Cons: Takes a long time especially with kids
If you are looking for a game for two people that will take some time to play, this is it. We purchased this game for our eight year old for Christmas. It's recommended for ages seven and up. Our six year old definitely doesn't understand how to play it...

Pros: A popular and timeless classic that gets the whole family together. Cons: Small pieces and length of play make this unsuitable for very young kids.
Battleship is one of those nice family games that I think will never go out of style. It's great because children as young as age six can play it and understand how the game works, and it's fun for adults as well. This is a good one to keep handy...

Pros: a life long game of strategy, inexpensive Cons: Little pieces that are easily lost
My parents bought this for my brothers and I while we were growing up. This game has provided fun for my family for years and years. Now this game, nearly 15 years old, my son and I enjoy challenging each other to a good game of battleship. The only...

Pros: easy rules, lots of fun Cons: slow learning curve for some
There has to be something said in this era of 3D graphics on video games and memory cards for games that are low tech but so much fun to play. Battleship is one of these games.
Battleship is easy to set up and to learn how to play. You and...

Pros: It's a fun guessing game. Cons: Just a guessing game; lots of little pieces; only 2 can play.
At a fundamental level, Battleship is little more than a glorified game of Rock-Paper-Scissors: Can you guess where your opponent's ships are before he guesses where yours are? The choices are more complex in Battleship than in Rock-Paper-Scissors, but...

Pros: A real boys/mens game Cons: not for all kids
I remember this this game when I was a kid. I did not like it or understand it then and I have not changed that opinion since I was a child. Although my son does not agree. He and his friends love this game. I must say they liked it right off and...

Pros: Boring... oh wait that's a con Cons: Boring
I have got to say, of the most boring games in the world. Battleship is one of them. I can't believe it got so famous. Yes, I own a copy of Battleship. It is an old one, but it works. Really though, what is the point of this? Where are the...

Pros: none Cons: too many small pieces, made rather poorly
I bought Battleship for my daughter and I to play on rainy days. What a waste of money. Let me tell you that my daughter is mentally challenged but she beats me at this game every time, so you can see why I find it boring. It doesn't take a genius to...

Pros: A game for all ages. Cons: Too many little pieces to keep track of.
My son recently received Battleship for his birthday. He was overjoyed at the idea of owning it. Battleship is a game I have fond memories of as a child. It is a game of chance and even a bit of skill. Battleship is a game for all ages.

Pros: Some good sound effects. Cons: Takes away some of the fun of paper and pencil games.
Traditionally battleships is a fun game played with paper and pencil. The idea of the game is as follows:-
Each player draws a grid, labelling the colums from a to h, and the rows from 1 to 10. Each player then draws a variety of ships on the...

Pros: Good for car trips Cons: Not enough to replace the paper version
I have played battleships ever since I was a five year old boy, and after countless times drawing grids and placing blobs on the grid to represent ships, I decided to try out the electronic version.
The game is pretty robust, the counters are...
