Pros: Great puck feel, great durability for wood, inexpensive Cons: Not enough glue, not the elastic zing of a composite blade.
For some reason or another, I never quite got used to the bouncy, energetic puckhandling of composite blades. I decided to lose a few miles per hour off my shot and give myself the old fashioned puck feel of a wood stick. Enter the Supreme 4000. ...

Bauer 4000 - Good Blade
by aimeenick ,Feb 28 '05
Pros: Strong construction, good feel, relatively light for price, black color. Cons: A bit thick
After a few tries with one piece composite sticks, I went back to wooden blades to get my "feel" back. I wanted to try the Bauer Lindros pattern blade and picked the 4000. Seemed like a very good blade for the price point at the time. I can say after several games it is holding up very well and has become my favorite. The Kevlar and black paint are very protective and have kept the blade from water logging and cracking at the bottom. It feels like it is holding its stiffness well. I bought another today.

Bauer 4000 wood blade - Good value
by sberg59 ,Mar 30 '05
Pros: Price, feel, wristshot power and accuracy. Cons: Durability of fiberglass wrap.
I've tried any number of sticks, blades and patterns, and I find I always want to have a stock of these Bauer blades on hand. They have been slump-breakers.
One of the main selling points is that they are inexpensive, they retail new for about $19. They are fairly light and allow for a much better feel of the puck than the far more expensive composite blades on the market. The hosel is standard length, and seems to have flex that is missing from the composites. This helps the velocity on my wrist shot.
If this blade has a downside it would be the durability of the fiberglass wrap. I've frayed the ends in corner battles for the puck, and I've cracked the face by using this blade for slapshot practice. (This may just be me, I cracked the face on my Vapor XX doing the same thing.)
Overall, I'd recommend this blade as a reliable, if not spectacular option. Like I said, slumpbreakers.
