I live in north central Florida where fire ants are a definite problem. Because of brand recognition, I bought Bayer Powerforce Multi-insect ready-to-spread granules. This product does not phase fire ants. Bayer, to add insult, did not stand behind their product using the excuse that I spread it in unison with fertilizer, the practice I always use, and is successful with Otho and Spectricide products. Bayer admits on their website that Multi-insect does not control white grubs, fire ants, or European crane fly, the bag says it kills "ants" (one would assume all). I always use fire ants as my indicator as to when to reapply (usually at 1 1/2 months). Other insects appeared to respond, but without fire ant control, this product is worthless for me.
