Pros: Perfect size, power and a pleasure to use Cons: Pretty Pricy. Everyone ALWAYS wants to meet at your place!!!
As a teenager we had a hot tub in our backyard (roughly 12 years ago). It was great for friends to hang-out in but my parents spent more on hydro and repairs than anything else. Now that Im in my 30's I suffer from herniated discs and general...

Pros: Great tub, when it works. Easy access pumps. Cons: Expensive, does not maintain set temperature, poor dealer service.
This is a great tub, when it heats properly. We have had this spa for nearly 1 year now and we are still having heating issues. Our tub has the "hush pump" on the outside under the step, which we like. Problem is of the many service techs we have had ...

Nice tub, bad service
by cindycda ,Feb 06 '04
Pros: Love the layout, the jets and the look of the tub. Cons: The tub costs a lot more than others and service is expensive.
We love our tub and use it almost daily winter and summer. Last summer the bubbler quit and the Beachcomber service guys replaced the motor. When the tub was turned on again the bubbler still wouldn't work. Turned out we had air in the lines and once that was bled out everything worked fine. Unfortunately we got stuck with a $700 bill for the new motor and despite assurances from Beachcomber USA, Beachcomber Canada and the service shop that something would be done, four months later no one wants to answer our emails.

Hot Tub always leaked
by kollerj ,Jun 11 '08
Pros: Holds most of the water and keeps it at a constant temp. Cons: Tub and pump leaks, noisy pump, skimmer not working, air jets not working, poor buy
We purchased a Beachcomber tub (our first tub) and it has leaked since we got it. They have come out several times and have never fixed it. It was supposed to be a rebuilt tub with rebuilt motor and new pipes, etc. When they opened it up you could see the old pipes were used, even the loose fiberglass insulation was just stuck in. The motor makes so much noise it vibrates into the house. After several complaints there has been no satisfaction, as it still leaks a year latter. When asked earlier if we could return it and get one that works we were told too bad, that is not an option. I have emailed the parent company and they do not even have the decency to return. I would not recommend this product to anyone. We are now in the process of rebuilding the unit ourselves which so far has not been a big problem. Maybe it is not all the tubs fault just find some competent repair people, and sales people who stand behind what they sell!

550x Limited Edition Hot Tub
by mconnolly23 ,Dec 01 '08
Pros: Looks nice. The hot tub experience outdoors is wonderful. Cons: Stereo sounds terrible. Not enough power in jets. Dislike flow control valve. Too $$.
We discovered Beachcomber at a local home show. They advertised a higher quality product than the competitions, hence the reason for the higher cost. We purchased the tub from a knowledgeable sales person and have found our Dealer's Staff helpful and pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately for us during the 6 months we had the hot tub we encountered many problems. The biggest problem that Beachcomber indicated they will not correct is that the sound quality of the stereo is poor.
