Pros: All you can eat, if that's what you want; inexpensive wines Cons: Not particularly exciting food
As a group at work, we had a bunch of money to use or lose. It's a quirk of working for a feel-good company that wants people who work together to celebrate together. So we celebrated, um, three months of not going out together by going out together, pick ...

Pros: Value, good pasta, convenience to theater Cons: As it is a very popular restaurant, you may find it a bit congested
I’ve eaten at Becco quite a few times over the past four years and have consistently been pleased with it. I’ve eaten there alone (after work sometimes) and with friends. The caveats (if you’re new to NYC, these are ...

Pros: Excellent Quality & Highly Affordable Cons: In NYC and not Philadelphia :(
September 3, 2000
My husband and I capped off our weekend in NYC yesterday with a late lunch (2:30ish) at Becco. We were wandering around the theatre district dazed and hungry when we happened upon Restaurant Row. I was thrilled to see Becco...

Pros: Bargain food in large quantities, yet romantic and comfortable setting. Cons: it's hard NOT to order the pasta. Must branch out next time...
I've been on a Bastianich family kick lately, having just come from Babbo (collaboration with Mario Batali, see my review in NYC Travel section) and revisiting Becco this past weekend.
Located on "Restaurant Row", Becco serves...

Pros: Good ambience;
Convenient location Cons: rude service from several waitstaff;
mediocre food;
expensive (and unjustified) prices
Lidia seems to be a warm and affable tv personality, and so it was with high expectations (especially with respect to service) that my wife and I visited Becco in NYC near times square on our tight student budget. We had to wait about 20 minutes to ...

Pros: Fast service, great wine list, good bread,decent prices, fabulous deserts. Cons: average fish and pasta, food swims in excessive olive oil.
I love watching Lidia's cooking show on Public Television. That set the "urge" to want to try one of her restaurants. Sad to say, after today's meal, I was sorely disappointed.
The meal started off well with a nice basket of fresh bread,...

Pros: The decor is attractive and cozy, with lots of brick and wood. Cons: Mediocre food and service on a par with the Keystone Kops.
If you appreciate good service and a room in which you can hear your table companions speak, don't go to Becco. I ate dinner at Becco on Saturday, March 13, 2004. My mother-in-law had wanted to go there for her birthday, but we now plan to have a "do ...

Pros: Food is phenomenal Cons: Atmoshere terrible-Too crowded!
We loved the food and wine at Becco-However, the restaurant obviously can't accommodate the amount of tables in such a small place. It is very hard to enjoy a meal when your chair is constantly being hit from behind!!!!The food was very good, however, it...

Best Italian in theater district
by ctcritic ,Mar 14 '07
Pros: Good quality food, good service! Cons: Wait can be long at times
I love Becco! Every time we go to the theatre, we go to Becco! Have never had a bad meal or bad experience. The prixe fixe pasta special is top notch. Nobody can beat their Osso Bucco! Desserts are always spot on. Sure it gets busy and crowded at times, but what Manhattan restaurant doesn't?
