Pros: More mature and melodic Cons: Not the same ol' Disturbed
Disturbed have followed up their big debut The Sickness with Believe, a strong sophomore release, which achieves that often hard-to-reach balance: continuing with the sound that made them big without merely repeating their previous work. I ...

Pros: David Draiman has one of the best voices I have ever heard. Cons: A number of songs sound too similar.
You know how some vocalists could make "Mary Had A Little Lamb" sound good? David Draiman is one of those gifted singers. Of course, David would probably incorporate a few "baa! baa!" grunts in there, knowing how much he likes toying with ...

Pros: Strong playing, some great tracks Cons: Some filler and repetition, pounding style
For many fans of metal, the first experience they had with Disturbed was the scat opening to the title single to their record Down with the Sickness. I am not generally a huge fan of such hard-edged music, but that song grew on me, as did the radi ...

Pros: From start to finish, "Believe" is one of metal's most glorious achievements.
Cons: "Intoxication" is the only clunker here, and even then its still tolerable.
Coming off their by-the-numbers debut CD "The Sickness", I think it's safe to say that with 2002's metal opus "Believe", Disturbed have aced their sophomore test. Within this album's twelve powerful, mind-blowing tracks are some of metal music's most intr ...

Pros: hmmmmm, Devour and Darkness Cons: Beavis and Butthead would love this album
I thought about getting in touch with Beavis and Butthead again for this review, but then I realized that I would have to kick their a*ses for liking this album...
Anyways, Disturbed hit it big about 2 and a half years ago, on the...

Pros: Turns Disturbed into a meaningful band with a full assembly of listenable tunes Cons: A bit lacking in dynamics
What the latest uprising of metal (or its various subgenres) has lacked is a superstar who can write consistently impressive, meaningful tunes. Surprisingly, with Believe, Disturbed, thought of as a mere novelty based on their debut album

Pros: Mature. Heavyness in their songs. Cons: Mature. Some bad moments.
How hard is it to think of a band name? Well, a band name can be anything, BirdMen 101, Men Without Hats, Slayer, Staind, F*ck...I'm Dead, and even Random Lamb. Thats not an official band though. And Disturbed comes in, making their debut around ...

Pros: Meatier riffs, more melody, less scat and growls than before. Cons: Less aggression, more emphasis on bad gothic lyrics.
Chicago quartet Disturbed finally blew up in the nu metal scene when THE SICKNESS came out in 2000 and spawned a triple set of hard rock hits, all proving the band had enough guttural growls, slamming beats, and grind-core rhythm to attract a devoted...

Pros: Mature, challenging lyrics remain true to a nu-metal sound Cons: A couple of songs are nothing short of bland.
Oh-AH-AH-AH-AH!
It was this sound that turned me on to Disturbed a few years back. "Down with the Sickness" is probably my favorite metal song of all time because it is a daring track that tests the limits of not only vocal music, but vocal...

Pros: Still Retains Some Old Sound Cons: A Slow Ballad Song, and Lack Of Diversity In Songs
For many fans of Disturbed this album was a very long wait, for those who were just sitting back listening to their friends albums, then this wasn't such a long wait. I would probably be of the later group, though I did like their album, I didn't jump...

Pros: BELIEVE, they've improved a lot over their debut... Cons: Writing clunky at times
I obtained this album along with Disturbed's other opus The Sickness. Although their debut was powerful and had several good tracks, the bad ones were extremely bad and really showed the flaws in the band, especially the lame and lazy guitarwork ...

Pros: A stark improvement over Disturbed's debut Cons: Wears a little thin in the second half
Believe's entry into the Billboard charts at #1 wasn't exactly a shocker, but it was surprising. The album's debut single, "Prayer", hit a brick wall when it was banned by MTV. The cable channel was concerned that the video, which was a modern ...

Pros: Some very good songs Cons: Many tracks sound similar
Disturbed's sophmore effort is called "Believe" It is certainly different than their debut album titled "The Sickness" but it is still a worthy C.D. for purchase. One big con in this album is that some (most) of the songs sound similar to the others. ...

Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing
Nearly three years have passed since the release of Disturbed's second record BELIEVE. That being said, we are almost virtually on the eve of their third record, TEN THOUSAND FISTS. So I don’t particularly believe that this review will sway anyone’ ...
