Pros: Easy, good support, works with PPPoE, decent range Cons: only 3 wired ports, no cables included, limited windows XP support
I first bought the Microsoft Wireless Base Station, because it was between the Belkin and the Microsoft at my local Fry's Electronics for the price point I was targeting, and the Microsoft one was cheaper.
If you want to truly appreciate the...

Pros: Superb install and performance, bargain priced. Cons: Instructions vague in places, signal strength meter misleading.
Having given up in frustration any hope of getting my SMC Barricade (wired) to function reliably, I set out to replace my broadband router. Since prices for wireless networking have fallen dramatically since I wired my home, I decided to use this...

Pros: Price, Simplicity Cons: 3 wired ports, no provision to wall mount
Just set this router up with 3 USB wireless NIC's.
I had an Intel Anypoint (the old Intel Anypoint system) 1.6 MPS ad hoc network set up previously, and was getting frustrated by the buggy software (frequent crashes, signal loss, rebooting...

Pros: Inexpensive, 3 Wired Ports, Small, Fairly Easy To Set Up Cons: So-So Range, Not Too Much Documentation
I bought this wireless router about 6 months ago for $150, pretty low for any wireless 802.11b wireless router. After unpacking, I followed the directions, and I got everything working within about an hour. I was setting it up on a wireless notebook with...

Pros: relatively inexpensive. Cons: range is not great. setup is annoying.
I was able to pick this router (after rebates, etc) for around $65. For that price, it was a good buy. However, you definitely get for what you pay.
I gave the router to a friend of mine, who tried to install it and had many problems. We...

Pros: Very cheap. Easy to set up and use. Cons: Very very limited range (~30ft), Unreliable.
This router is very easy to set up and use, but failed after being left powered up overnight. After unplugging the power and plugging it back in it would work for another day. Finally tried prying the top off the router, and now it works...

Pros: Cheap Cons: Has to restart constantly, low range.
I always hear good things about Belkin but experience with several of their products always leaves me wondering why. My router goes down quite a bit and has to be restarted. I used a cable switch of theirs a while ago and it too wasn't stable. A...

Has served me well thus far
by brandonmathews ,Aug 03 '04
Pros: Decent range, easy set up, stable (compared to other routers used), cheap. Cons: 3-ports, can't disable SSID broadcast, can't bridge or use as AP, boxy looking.
I bought this on ebay a little less than 2 years ago for $45 and it has worked superbly for me. It had some initial problems which were fixed when I upgraded the firmware. It is one of the earlier models of cheap wireless routers so it is a little lacking on features but it does what it was made to do.
It is super easy to set up if you have any knowledge about networking and fairly easy with instructions for those with less experience.

okay, but slow!
by master2004134 ,Feb 01 '06
Pros: simple setup
3 wired ports
wired/wireless access
works well with cable modems Cons: slow pc-to-pc speeds
little documentation
opening ports doesn't work!
This router works great if you need a quick network and have a fast connection, however, pc-to-pc transfers are just way too slow (it takes 8 hours+ to transfer 175 MB!). Also, the router supports only 10 open port/ranges, which is not good considering modern games need 15-20 ports, and they don't work anyways!

Piece if Crap! WARNING - Do Not Buy This Router
by donsbabe36 ,Apr 23 '07
Pros: NONE Cons: Everything. It doesn't even give a signal.
We've had this Router (F5D6230-3) since 2002 and have yet to get it to work. This is the second one that doesn't work. We have everything hooked up correctly, and they tell us that it should be working, but for some reason it doesn't.
WARNING!! Do Not Buy This Router!!!
