Best Western Plantation Hale Suites

Pros: Great value, roomy accommodations
Cons: Not as upscale as other resorts, buildings look a little dingy on the outside

I stayed at the Best Western Plantation Hale during my recent visit to Hawaii. I would have no problem staying here again. I give it three stars because it is far from a "resort" hotel -- there are no on-site restaurants, fancy gardens or tiki-torch ...

Pros: Convenient location to activities and shopping on east shore of Kauai.
Cons: The beach walking distance from property is not recommended for swimming or snorkeling.

This property is great for families. The comfortable, clean units sleep six adults easily. Each unit is about 740sq.feet, and can be previewed at the plantationhale.com website. We got our hotel reservations through hawaiiconnections.com , so paid less...

Pros: Large rooms and well-stocked kitchen. Near town.
Cons: Roosters crowing 24/7.

We had to stay one night before flying back to the mainland. I made reservations a week before.

Great suite. The roosters were crowing but with air condition on, we slept pretty good.

The kitchen was well stocked with amenities. Large bathroom. This building was recently renovated.

We enjoyed the hospitality desk. They were very helpful when we arrived for check-in.
