Pros: Amazingly comfortable, Good fluid retention Cons: Poor durability, Uncomfortable when dry (Worse than any other)
For around six months I was wearing Biocompatibles Proclear one month soft lenses in my right eye. They were recommended to me by my eye doctor since my right eye is somehow considerably more sensitive than my left eye. I wanted to see if there ...
Contact lens wearers, beware. There's a wide world of vision correction products that promise the moon, but deliver green cheese. This may be one of them. I'm a 12 year contact lens veteran. I started wearing the "permanent" lenses, the kind that ...
Pros: Visual clarity, end-of-day comfort Cons: Not as oxygen-permeable as the new Silicon Hydrogels
WHO AM I? A moderate hyperope (+4.00, +2.50) with mild dry eye. My previous contacts were Acuvue Advance. I will use the Advance to compare and contrast the Proclear Compatibiles throughout the review. I have worn these lenses for about a month and a ...
Pros: Clean, clear, fresh eyes every day Cons: softer than my other lenses, so they rip sometimes
For almost all the years I've been wearing contact lenses (19), I've had non-disposable soft contact lenses--until about 6 months ago when I got Proclear Compatibles. Those other contacts were fine for me, but one problem I had with them is that I...
Pros: High water content, comfortable, strong, clear Cons: expensive
I used to have B&L Softlens 66 before I got these (there's a review I've written on them somewhere) and I gave them 3 out of 5. These I will give 5 out of 5 because they are quite amazing.
I've been wearing contact lenses for 15 years. The...
Pros: All day comfort, worth the money! Cons: Might be difficult to find unless purchased at a private eye doctors office.
My first experience with contact lenses was with Biomedics55's. They were thick, and uncomfortable. I would often blink them out of my eyes while I was at work! When I moved to a new area, I saw an eye doctor who prescribed the Proclear ...
Pros: Allows more oxygen to the eye they say Cons: Tear easily, leave pieces behind in the eye
I'm near sighted and have been wearing contacts since the 1980s. I often fall asleep with my contacts so my doctor recommended these because they allow more oxygen to the eye. I think that must be because half the time they're torn up. These lenses are ...
Pros: Comfortable Cons: Supposed to be monthly and tear within days no matter how careful you are.
I have been wearing contacts for at least 13 years. I have bounced around looking for the perfect kind, everything from permanent to daily/weekly/monthly. My eye doc finally recommended these for comfort since I have very dry eyes. They are pretty ...
Pros: Comfortable to wear (until torn), supposedly good for dry eyes Cons: Tear way too easily
I have been wearing contact lenses for about 12 years. I started with non-disposables and started using disposables about 6 years ago. Over the years, I have used Durasoft, B&L, Optima FW, PureVision, BioCompatibles, and probably another.
Pros: GREAT for dry eyes, comfortable, not drying, crisp/clear vision, tinted Cons: Tear easily if not handled carefully
I was prescribed Proclear Compatibles approximately three years ago when I was told I had dry eyes during my pregnancy. I have been using Proclear since that time and haven't tried anything else until I recently went to the optometrist due to an expired ...
Pros: durable, easy to handle, and comfortable for mild dry eye sufferers. Cons: takes a little longer to stabilize
Okay, so you have dry eyes. And you want to wear contact lenses all day and not have to worry about carrying around a little bottle of eye drops. Wake up, it's not going to happen. However, with the right lens and drops, I can now safely and ...
Pros: Comfortable Cons: Contacts chip apart easily, don't last the month.
Not happy with the length of time these contacts last for the price. One week and one of them chipped. This is the second time I tried these and once again they chipped apart. The first ones I bought over the internet, the next came from my doctors...
Pros: Comfortable Cons: Not at all durable. Edge defects galore that irritate eyes.
I have been wearing Pro-clear Biocompatible lenses for over 3 years now and while they are fairly comfortable, the problem with edge defects is a real negative. There is obviously a manufacturing quality control problem because many many many of my lenses come out of the package with a thin angled line on the edge of the lens that eventually turns into a rip and usually does this while wearing the lens - thus leaving a small piece of plastic floating around in my eye somewhere. I have had to throw away dozens of lens WAY before one month of wearing. Some lenses have ripped literally in one day of wearing. The lens manufacturing process REALLY needs to be fixed. This does not happen with other brands. No matter how careful you are, you'll end up replacing these lenses WAY before one month, probably no more than every two weeks on average. I'm switching brands for this reason. Any former Proclear wearers that have found a substitute lens that's as comfortable please write a comment.
Best lenses for dry eye contact lens wearers by wrighton732 ,Feb 24 '05
Pros: Moisture content is high and lenses stay comfortable longer. Cons: More expensive than most disposables.
I have used Proclear compatibles for more than 5 years and still have not found anything that works as well for my eyes. I have not had the trouble with lens tears that other users have had. I have not torn my lenses more than once or twice in all the time that I have used these lenses. I ask my eye doctor each year if there is anything comparable, because they are more expensive and so far there is nothing. It's worth the extra money. These lenses are no worse, in my experience, when the eyes/lenses get dry than any others.
Good product for tired eyes-no problem with tearing by lisalandry ,Mar 26 '05
Pros: Relieved discomfort, highly recommended Cons: 1-800-Contacts has discontinued the product, but you can still find them at Vision Direct Online.
My eyes were starting to itch all the time. I went to my eye doctor as I thought maybe I had scratched my eyeball. I didn't always take care of my contact like I should have so I thought maybe it was catching up with me. My eyes were in good health so I asked if maybe I just needed to wear glasses for awhile since I had been wearing contacts for almost 20 years. My eye doctor suggested Pro-clear since you can leave them in for 30 days & then dispose. That was about 18 mos ago. Since then, the only time I have a problem is when I go more than 30 days with the lenses. I try to take them out at night so that I can wear them for 45 days sometimes. This is not recommended but saves money over the year. I guess I have been lucky but I have not had any issues with tearing as some of the other reviews stated.
