Pros: Lightweight; Easy to push Cons: Not really steam
This carpet cleaner isn't anything special; it spits water down on the carpet and then sucks it back up. There is not much more to it except for the brushes at the bottom that drag when it is pushed. The cleaning solution that goes into the tank is ...
Pros: It was easy to use and it cleaned my carpets! Cons: I wish I was rich enough to have a maid!
Carpets! They make our homes look beautiful.... as long as we can keep them clean. If you are single with no pets and travel by sterilized bubble to work every day, and don't eat at home, your carpets are easy to clean. However, if you, like me ...
Pros: light weight, inexpensive, cleans well, carpets are dry in 4hrs. Cons: dirty water tank needs to be emptied before clean water tank is empty.
I was looking for a carpet cleaner because my son moved out and his room had been abused for years. God only knows what was in his carpet. I thought about hiring someone to do the job but I would rather know what I am putting into the carpet. What ...
Pros: Cheap, lightweight. Hard floor squeegee available. Durable and easy to repair. Cons: No heat, small fluid reservoirs, no motorized brush.
"Cheapdribbler" would be a more accurate name for this vacuum, but "Quicksteamer" sells. I recently had mine apart to clear a clog, and discovered that there is neither a pump nor a heating element for the clean shampoo solution. The gravity-fed ...
Pros: Does a good job cleaning for the price! Cons: No steam No power brushes
I have a puppy, which means that we have plenty of accidents that I need to clean up after... Oh the joy of owning a puppy. It is difficult to get those wet poop stains out of the carpet even with products specifically designed to lift an animal stain! ...
Pros: Inexpensive, lightweight, easy to use, easy to move, easy to store Cons: Not really steam, small water capacity, mixed solution, no agitating brush
I recently borrowed a friends carpet cleaner, a Eureka Atlantis 2595A. I tried using it, and apparently they abused it and the water pump and agitator brush motors were bad, so to review other cleaners I went. I found excellent reviews on the Bissell ...
Pros: Easy to put together, easy to use and works great! Cons: Water sometimes spills out the side as you dump out the dirty water tank.
Before I purchased this cleaner I had a lot of dirt stains all over my carpet particularly near my doors and in our main living room. I planned on purchasing a larger machine that was on sale but the store had ran out. Since I was determined to come ...
Pros: lightweight, good for small messes, or maintaining clean carpet Cons: small tanks, not for heavy cleaning, hard to clean dirty water tank
I bought this for about seventy dollars at Walmart two or three years ago. I got it to clean my carpets, thinking it was a steam cleaner or a carpet shampooer. It works good for cleaning up spills, or for getting the carpet semi clean, but don't expect ...
Pros: Good value for initial cleaning power Cons: didn't last long. A pain to clean thoroughly.
I have two cats and a family very prone to spilling food, drinks, etc. so I definitely had to get a wet vac. At first it was a wonderful alternative to scrubbing and blotting out carpet stains and got out most any simple stains that I could throw at it. ...
Pros: Lightweight, easy to clean Cons: Not for heavy or set-in stains, small solution tank
I bought this cleaner over 2 years ago, and it still works. I trust the Bissell name; I haven't had any problems yet. This steamer is lightweight and easy to carry. It fits easily into the trunk of my very small car, so transporting it isn't a ...
Pros: Lightweight, ease of use, large water capacity. Cons: Small hole in the dirty canister, no rotating brush
I guess since it is light weight, it probably doesn't work very well. But I was hoping, since it was a Bissell that it might work well. I got this as a birthday present to clean up after my 4 dogs, because I desperately needed one. Well, I was so excited ...
Pros: small, easy to put together, easy to dump Cons: brush is not good at all
I have a small 2 bedroom home and it worked really good today. It got the carpet clean (and I have pets). I got the bottle of cleaner for pets and it did a better job cleaning than the sample they supply you with.
Pros: Inexpensive - Lightweight - Easy to assemble - Easy to operate - Long Cord Cons: No rotating brushes -
Amazing (most probably) because of the technique I used to clean a carpet which was very dirty (traffic area, no pets).
Here's the technique:
1. Use very hot water.
2. Clean the dirty spots using 'Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover' = http://www.folexcompany.com/
3. Push the Bissell -with the trigger on- to dispense the cleaning solution by covering 4 feet in about 4 seconds.
4. Now, with the trigger off, take 30 to 40 seconds to pull the machine back by jiggling the handle in a zigzagging motion. (Moving the handle 12 inches from left to right will cause the brushes to scrub the carpet area with an amplitude of about 2 inches from side to side).
5. Repeat until clean.
Results: The first 3 runs saw the water turning from ink black to dark gray. A few more runs (with spot cleaning on my knees) and the carpet became like new.
Conclusion: This week I'm gonna return the machine to exchange it for a real contender: one with rotating brushes. That should save me from jiggling the vacuum around.
Bissell Quicksteamer 1770 series by reneegavin ,Jul 23 '08
Pros: lightweight, really freshened carpets Cons: didn't do great on hard floors, and didn't work on tough stains
This product was worth the money, but didn't really work great on hard floors. It nicely freshened up the carpets and did pull a lot of dirt from them.

Pros: 1. Economical 2. Compact unit/good for apartment dwellers 3. Lightweight Cons: Not applicable.
I purchased this piece for $80.00 on line at Sears and picked up at store. My kid managed to set the unit up, pour, measure cleaning solution and proceed to clean 2 bedroom apartment. We are VERY happy with the results! I read many reviews on this site as we are budget conscious and also followed the suggestions of others. First off use HOT water, pretreat spots and keep an eye on dirty water compartment. If you like feeling that your carpets are clean, you will like pouring out the dirty water.... Carpet lint, pet hair or fabric can get trapped in vent cover. This is easily resolved by using a hand held sprayer form a kitchen faucet to rinse out, a letter opener can also assist in clearing jams-
