Pros: Very effective for its price; Easy to use Cons: Small water tank makes big jobs tedious
I purchased this product in the Spring of 2006 as an alternative to renting a professional steam-cleaning machine for $40/day. I paid $99.99 for it at Canadian Tire. Considering the fact that most steam cleaners are priced in the $300-400 range, I ...
Pros: works well on carpets, cleans deep, makes carpet look refreshed Cons: none
We have light colored carpet and seven indoor cats, so our carpet needs to be steam cleaned from time to time. Rather than pay someone to come into my home, we opted to by Bissell's Quicksteamer. We paid about $80 for the steamer at ...
Pros: Reasonably priced, works as claimed, and has everything you'll need to get started. Cons: Basic unit with somewhat limited features.
With 6 busy kids and the additional traffic from friends, our carpets (and everything else in the house) take more than their fair share of abuse. Until recently our carpet shampooing was done with a rental unit or a borrowed shampooer. For about the ...
Pros: Lightweight, easy to use, cleans quickly and efficiently Cons: Reservoir needs to be filled fairly often. No hoses or other attachments for furniture, etc.
I bought my Quicksteamer 2080 at Sears, along with the product for pet stains. I paid about $140 (including a huge bottle of pet stain product for the Bissell) and a two year replacement warranty. The machine itself was $90. My objective in buying the ...
Pros: Lightweight, easy to use. Cons: Only holds 1/2 a gallon of cleaning fluid at a time.
The main floor of our home is mostly hard woods. However, one room, Her Highness (our dogs) domain is carpeted, providing her with maximum comfort. Being of the Canine persuasion, her delicate aroma begins to linger within the ...
Pros: Performs well. Light and relatively inexpensive. Cons: No tools for cleaning steps or upholstery. Tedious to clean.
The little Hoover Hot Spot proved to be not such a hot shot with its chronic leaking, so it was a mixed blessing when it stopped working altogether. It was time to start shopping for a replacement rug cleaner. Many refer to these rug-cleaning machines as ...
Pros: easy to use, lightweight, maneuverable, does a great job getting dirt out Cons: small solution and waste container, doesn't heat water
One of the things I purchased when I won a B

Buy gift certificate from Epinions was a steam cleaner for my carpets. It had become a ritual that about every two months we were renting a commercial cleaner to do the ...
Pros: Rugged and works well. Cons: Doesn't have an upholstery hose.
I bought this from Canadian Tire for $99 six-months ago.
I'm very pleased with it. It isn't really designed for a lot of wall-to-wall cleaning, but it does the job.
I recently received a Hoover SteamVac Spot as a gift. It sells for about $140 CN. It has an upholstery hose that is way too short and makes cleaning awkward and difficult. Compared to the Bissell it's a flimsy piece of junk.
Bissell BS2080 PetWash PowerBrush by ozdroggy ,Oct 17 '08
Pros: Easy to assemble - clear usage instructions - quiet - light weight - very efficient. Cons: Minor inconvenience of "small" 2 litre cleaning solution and dirty water collection tanks.
I live in a ground floor unit in a retirement village opening on to a grassy area and a garden. The light coloured carpet throughout is not a good colour in these circumstances and I was having to have it professionally cleaned almost twice a year to keep it up to scratch. Even then it always looked scruffy after a couple of months.
I bought this item today after reading the previous 7 reviews and have just finished using it. I was expecting a "satisfactory" experience but have to admit that the QUICKWASH [the QUICKSTEAMER is the US name for this cleaner] far exceeded my expectations. The Dirt Lifter PowerBrush is belt driven by the motor and makes the machine most efficient in its cleaning action. Although I have only done the two dirtiest carpets I can honestly say the result is excellent.
I have not used it yet on hard surfaces so cannot comment on that aspect but I bought it to clean carpet and that is what it does.
Very well designed product. Does exactly what it's suppose to. by johnnyrate ,Jan 13 '07
Pros: Design, quality, ease of use Cons: I can't think of a single con.
I just bought the Bissell 2080 QuickSteamer Upright Vacuum in January 2007. This carpet shampooer is designed for area rugs and small areas of carpet that are not too soiled. If you are looking to deep clean carpet in a rental property this is not the machine and it was not designed for it. Don't be fooled by the scrawny appearance, this is a well built vacuum. I was very impressed by the quality when I received the product. I have no doubt it will last me many happy years. I can't see where there could be any leaking as I read once or twice. Just follow the easy instructions and you can't go wrong. In short, I give this vacuum a 100% satisfaction rating and I am not easy to please.
