Pros: Light weight, cleans well. Cons: Wand can pull apart into 2 pieces, easily put back. No lighted vacuum head.
We just redecorated our front room and living room. We put down laminate flooring and added Oriental rugs. The literature from the rug company said to use a vacuum without a beater bar on the rugs. That leaves us with HOW many alternatives...? Hubby ...

Pros: Inexpensive and powerful with well thought out features. Cons: "Tornado" adds weight to wand. Flimsy wand stand. Fiddly bag setup
Bissell 6700 Butler Revolution Canister Vacuum. It's got a powerful little motor, easily rolling wheels, a telescoping wand, wand stand on the base unit, weird little "Tornado" attachment (more on that in a bit), retractable cord, a little suction-breakin ...

Pros: Great design, great suction, small and cheap. Cons: Have to order bags online
Don't even hesitate on this vacuum, it is a steal at Amazon's $55 price and is arguably the best vacuum I have owned, having owned more expensive Hoover uprights and Electrolux models in the past.
Suction is terrific due to the dual bagless/bag, cyclonic design. Hardly ever need to change bags, it is small, cute, quiet and does the job on bare floors incredibly well. Wouldn't get it if you have mostly wall to wall carpets, but if you have tile and wood flooring, this is the vacuum to get.
It is actually a Samsung vacuum that Bissell sells in the US. Google samsung vc 6700 and you will see similar designs.
The only issue is that the bags have to be ordered on bissell.com, because you won't find them in stores. However, it comes with 6 bags which should last several years anyway, so who cares. At this price, you can't go wrong.
The design is amazingly good. It moves easily, the suction is maintained consistently by the dual bag/bagless design and the operating cost is low with hardly any bag usage.

I LOVE my Bissell 6700 Butler Revolution vacuum
by anti_quated ,Nov 07 '04
Pros: Highly recommended. The best vacuum I've ever owned! Cons: Why does this model seem no longer to be offered by Bissell? Drat!
I have owned a Bissell 6700 Butler Revolution Canister vacuum for several months now. I absolutely LOVE it. This machine is petite, lightweight, and what a friggin' workhorse. It is the vacuum cleaner of my dreams. I got it through Amazon.com. I can think of nothing bad to say about it. Owning this model is the first time I've ever gotten excited about a vacuum cleaner -- as we all know a vacuum cleaner is a relatively boring item.
Evidently, Bissell has discontinued the Butler Revolution model -- I have a strong opinion about that: BUMMER! BUMMER! BUMMER!
