Pros: Suction is very good, easy to maneuver, doesn't scratch hardwood floors Cons: A little loud, power cord a little too short, cord wrap needs to be relocated
One weekend morning, I was watching television and saw an infomercial for the Bissell Versus Bare Floor Cleaner. Having just spent a tidy sum to replace the horrible green carpeting in the living room/dining room with lovely Brazilian Cherry ...

Pros: Easy to use, great suction, lightweight Cons: Power cord could be longer
I bought this to use on my hardwood floors. The vacuum picked up everything, including plant debris, hair, dust, dirt, crumbs, etc. The V shaped front makes it really easy to get around furniture, without having to move everything. I ...

An expensive dustpan...
by ltlrthquakes ,Oct 13 '09
Pros: Great suction! Easy to empty the canister. Easy to steer. Cons: Extremely short cord. Low stability when not holding on to the handle.
I have owned this vacuum for almost a year. I have approximately 2000 sq ft of hardwood and was looking for a replacement for a broom. I was pleased with the Versus at first - but the v-section that directs the dirt to the suction hole become clogged with hair and doesn't work. The idea of the machine is great - but the execution (or reliability) is lacking. It does not have any sort of suction near the edges - which means anytime you are near a wall you have to remove the hose and suck it up with the hose. It does have great suction! Sometimes the hose also is difficult to remove to utilize the hose.
Another distinct design flaw is the instability of the Versus while you are using the hose. There have been many many times that I have had this fall on my head - and it is ackward to vacuum with the hose while holding on to the handle.
The cord is extremely short. It could use about 4 more feet!

It's a Winner

Pros: Light, easily assembled, easy to maneuver, and dirt cup is easily handled. Priced well. Cons: Noisy, but who cares?
My son just had laminate flooring installed (from carpet) and has a hug black dog. Hair, hair everywhere. I have an old Bissell for hardwood floors and have been relatively happy with it. I vacuum the floors, them mop them. So I looked to see if the same vacuum was made, it wasn't, but reading the reviews of the new one, I purchased the Versus. It is great! It works for the purpose of purchase; junk on a hard floor. It does it well, and is easy to empty the dirt cup. I also found something I love to mop the floors with. A Sh-mop. Fabulous. So, between these two items, a task made easy.
