I agree with those that said the suction on this cleaner is a disappointment.  I experimented extensively and compared it to an older Hoover Silver.  The Hoover consistently out-suctioned the new Bissell.  I have examined it closely myself and had a Bissell shop look at it and it is operating normally-just poor suction.  If the machine can't suck the water up it won't get the dirt out.  The brushes were better on the Bissell however as was the spray on the nozzles.  The Hoover merely drips in rows on the carpet.  Part of the problem is that there are too many places that need sealing between the motor and the suctioning at the carpet.  A little leak at any of them results in poor suctioning.  Also, there is a small screen in the tank that is absolutely important to keep clean.  Once it gets lint on it your suction is gone completely.

Pros: Easy to use, powerful, hot water, strong solution, good suction, and fast. Interesting, smart tank.
Cons: Sort of short cord, but that's the least of my worries...there's worse out. :)

I have used a few different types of carpet cleaners. I always wished they would suck better...more like a vacuum. This Bissell cleaner was so easy to use my first time and I could not believe the dirt it got up with me using practically no effort. The dry time was really fast too. I was instantly in love! I have two young kids and two dogs. There's a heavy traffic area with light carpet, so it was really put to the test.

Pros: It had free trial products, which I didn't get to use.
Cons: Heavy, loud, broken, substandard product.

I have had this machine for less than 24 hours, and I will be taking it back. It is the 9200 T from Target that is supposed to have a multisurface function. I put it together, and the multifloor attachment did not even look like it was made for the cleaner. The plastic by the bottom snapped when I used it on the carpet. Also, I noticed that the beater bars weren't working, and when I took a closer look at it, there weren't even any belts attached to the beater bars. I called customer service, no help and a nonchalant attitude. Wow, never again!
If you would like to waste money, time, and energy lugging this thing back to the store than this is the machine for you.

This vacuum is horrible. I bought this item, it broke, I called the manufactuer, TOOK IT TO THERE SHOP A TOTAL OF THREE TIMES, I got upset and talked to the manager, so he said to send it back , so I sent it back they sent me a manufactured one, then that one was broken when I recieved it. I did this process 4 times with 4 different vaccums. I asked for a rebate coupon towards a different vacuum because it was frustrating with having to wait for a different vaccum then it being broke. but they wouldnt do it. They have horrible customer service. Do not recommend at all. STAY AWAY FROM ANY BISSEL PRODUCTS !!!! THERE HORRIBE !!!!

After a thorough search for opinions at many web sites, I came to the conclusion that the Bissell 9200 was the one to buy. There were very few low ratings by users, but these complaints turned out to be the users lack of experience and jumping to conclusions.

I thought initially that the cleaner was going to be too heavy to carry upstairs. But after opening the carton, I found several bottles of free cleaner that added considerably to the package weight. There was a special deal with BJ's warehouse club that included an additional 2-48oz samples of Natural Orange Cleaner, 2 bottles of Scotch Guard, 1 bottle of heavy stain remover. These freebees reduced the overall price by at least $25.

Assembly was simple. 4 screws to hold the handle together and secure the tool rack.

It's important to clean the dirty water tank thoroughly immediately after use. The solution and dirt will cloud the clear plastic. You need to be able to see the dirty water being vacuumed to determine your cleaning progress.

I highly recommend this product. Price paid $199.99.
