Pros: easy to use, 1-year warranty, not too heavy, very powerful, great suction, easy assembly, bagless Cons: I am not a fan of the color
The failure of our last work vacuum led to the purchase of the Bissell 3950 Velocity Bagless Vacuum. The intent was to purchase one that was high-powered, and would get the job done on a large carpeted area, as well as on linoleum tiled floors. Out of ...
Pros: inexpensive, great suction, picks up cat hair, lots of tools, ergonomic, no bags Cons: tips over easily, need to empty canister often
About 6 months ago, coinciding with the slow and torturous death of my Hoover vacuum, I read a Consumer Reports article that gave a glowing account of the Bissell Velocity, saying that it could suck up a million pounds of pet hair per minute. ...
Pros: Cost, Performance, Bagless System, Noise Level, Clear Hoses, Weight. Cons: Suction prohibits extending hose when using attachments, Cannot turn off rotating brush.
I purchased this vacuum about 2 weeks ago when my EXTREMELY loud Dirt Devil Vision kept giving me more trouble than it was worth. The assembly was very easy and only requires a phillips head screwdriver. I must admit that the parts that are already ...
Pros: Great suction, long cord, low price, no bags to empty Cons: Gets clogged way to easy and requires partial disassembly to clean it.
As of the writing of this review, my wife and I have been in our new house for about 10 months. The house we had previously had very little carpet so we didn't need a great vacuum. The house we have now has almost 3200 square feet of carpet. That much ...
Pros: Cleans carpets well; edge clean is effective; turbo brush is powerful; great for stairs. Cons: Spits sand on bare floors; handle is heavy; the cup is messy to empty.
Update: It doesn't tip as badly as I thought it did: I previously wrote that the machine would tip over easily when used with attachments. I have since discovered that if the hose is hooked under the lower hose clip, it will allow me to pull out the ...
Pros: Lightweight, Cute (to some), Powerful Suction, Easy to Use. Cons: Tips over too easily and power chord can be cumbersome.
I have to admit that I wasn't expecting on doing research for a new vacuum. Our old one was a Dirt Devil bagless vacuum, and worked pretty well. We had it for 3 years, but my wife mentioned the fact that she hated how heavy it was. Of course, me being ...
Pros: Excellent suction, Long attachment hose, Long power cord, nice ergonomics. Cons: Messy to empty, Power switch placement, can tip backwards.
I purchased this vacuum after extensive searching when our Hoover started to lose suction. This one hit my pricing sweet spot at $129 at the local Target store. I don't care much for the color, but it's a VACUUM, not a piece of furniture. Assembly ...
Pros: suction, weight, price, long power cord, gets the dog hair up! Cons: retractable power cord, purplish color
I've had all different brands of vacuums and Bissell always seems to give a good product at a fair price. Decided we needed a bagless vacuum since the main issue with bags is losing suction when the bags get full. First purchased the Bissell Revolution ...
Pros: Very powerful, great suction. Pre-motor & Hepa filter. Nice on-board tools. Long power cord. Cons: Brush doesn't stop, blows dust when using hose. Tippy. Exhausts downward which blows dust around.
My vacuum just died and I was in the market for a new one, I've heard good things about Bissell and this vac was on sale. It was easy to assemble, is very powerful, has great suction (better than my recently deceased Kirby), handy on board tools and a ...
Pros: The length of the hose is awesome. Does pick up non-doghair pretty well. Cons: DIRTY, MESSY, back-heavy, only empties 1/2 of what gets filled with junk...
If you don't vacuum regularly or usually have a lot to vacuum (i.e. dog hair), DON'T get the Velocity! I just bought it last week after lots of research and going to several stores to look at vacuums, and I thought it would be great. I thought bagless ...
Pros: Price, durability, onboard attachments Cons: Canister is a bit small-has to be emptied frequently
This vac is awesome at picking up whatever is on the floor. Pet hair, cat litter, even the occasional penny dime nickel! My carpet feels so clean and fresh after we're done vacuuming. Adding a touch of carpet powder makes my carpet feel like it was ...
Pros: Excellent suction power, gets the job done, bag less. Cons: No retractable cord, very noisy and it takes in everything on its way.
This is a great vacuum that gets the job done. I have tile floors and rugs, and the suction power is simply excellent. The cord is long which is great, since I do not have to keep changing from the cord from outlet to outlet, as I clean around the house. ...
I got this vacuum as a gift and was a little skeptical at first. I have used it on laminate and vinyl as well as carpet and have been pleased with its performance. I have had it almost a year and have not had any major problems with it. One thing I do ...
Pros: Good performace, washable filter, not too heavy, canister seals good, doesn't leak, large capacity. Cons: Headlamp tied to motor operation. Hose Is kinda short. Height adjust should adjust more.
My Bissell Velocity Dual Cyclonic vacuum worked great I was very happy for 2 years. Then I thought it died, turns out the headlamp bulb burned out, and it is tied into the motor like a fuse. Does not say anywhere in the user manual or the company website ...
Pros: suction, cord length, attachments, lightweight, propels itself, easy to clean Cons: make sure you have a very thin and long screwdriver to put it together
I have a german shepard/boxer mix and he sheds SO much. I used to have to use one of those manual tape lint remover things all over my carpet to get the hair out of the fibers. This vacuum, i did a once over with the little attachment pet hair brush it comes with and the hairs disappeared. The vacuum itself has excellent suction and gets up dirt i didn't even know existed in my carpet. Very easy to clean and not messy at all. I used to have a dirt devil, and that was a mess when you had to clean it with dust flying all over the place.
just make sure you have a long and thin phillips or flat head screwdriver(both types fit the screws) to put it together, the screws are set back pretty far (about 4 inches) into the plastic with an opening that's only about half an inch in diameter.
and be careful that things like drapes or couch slipcovers aren't near the vacuum, cause it sucks up EVERYthing in its path.
