The mower always starts and creates no allergy inducing fumes!

by rgathright , Sep 25 '08
Pros: Cordless, quiet and costs $.05 per 4,000 ft to operate.
Cons: Lead-acid batteries, weak battery charger.
Just like Sarah Palin is shaking up American politics, the Black & Decker Cordless Lawn Mower is changing the way we look at cutting grass. Silent operation that is quieter than a ...

Don't know why I waited so long to get one of these

by kballs , Mar 16 '08
Pros: No gas/oil, no cord, plastic deck = no rust, decent power.
Cons: Heavy, old-school lead-acid batteries.
I have been waiting for cordless mowers with better batteries (Firefly batteries, lithium ion, etc.) to come out but it seems like they never release anything even though the technology continues to be "1-2 years out". Better batteries would allow more ...

I'm happy with my mower

by bananaleaf , Feb 16 '09
Pros: No gasoline required; no pollution; quiet; lightweight, since it's mostly made of plastic
Cons: Limited range on a battery charge; battery needs replaced after a few years
I have had this lawn mower for 7 years and have been pleased with it.  It is so nice not to have to worry about gasoline and oil.  (We haven't been able to find a battery-powered snow blower, so having to mess with gasoline and oil with the ...

Works well as long as the job is not too big

by dland2000 , Nov 18 '07
Pros: Easy to use, works well on small to medium sized jobs, quiet.
Cons: Short battery life, heavy, flimsy arms.
This review is for the CM1000 model of the Black & Decker 19" 24 volt cordless mower. After learning about how inefficient gas mowers are in terms of pollution, I decided to get a battery powered mower. This mower was pretty much the only option I ...

Black and Decker Rechargeable Mower

by macintoshguru , Oct 28 '08
Pros: Starts with the flick of lever. No gas, oil, plugs to mess with.  Quiet.
Cons: Wish they had a self-propelled version for those hilly areas. A little heavy.
I've owned this mower for a little over two years now and it has far exceeded my expectations.  Not having to bother with hauling gas and oil.  No tuneups. Several of my neighbors have commented on how quiet this mower is compared to their gas ...

Runs great, but there's Hidden Costs & ... it's not Green

by steeeverino , May 26 '09
Pros: Quiet.  Starts quickly. Low daily maintenance. Powerful.
Cons: Expensive (repairs).  Not Green.
I bought a 19" CMM Mulching Electric Cordless Lawn mower from Black and Decker 5 years ago.  It is great in that it is quiet, low maintenance, and saves many trips to the gas station.  I have not been disappointed with the performance of the ...

easy easy easy and not smelly

by tedie , Dec 02 '08
Pros: easy to start, easy to change cutting height,  not smelly
Cons: battery could be more powerful especially if grass is long.
I have had this lawn mower for two summers now and it is fantastic.  When I see someone I know while I am cutting the grass I often give them a demo of the really cool features.  I let go of the cut-off handle and then with just one finger I ...

Convenient and Easy to Use Tool
by jogreen ,Jul 22 '08
Pros: No gasoline and runs very quietly.
Cons: Not convenient for a large yard due to battery charge.
This is an exceptionally easy to use lawn mower and fairly lightweight too. There is very little assembly required other than the mulching bag and the mulch attachment. It is very easy to start as opposed to the cord pull mowers and runs relatively quietly. The motor almost sounds like an oversized fan running. The cutting height adjustment is easy to do and it deals well with overgrown grass without clogging. I especially like that it is a green tool with no gasoline or fumes to deal with. I would recommend this tool without reservation for small to medium sized yards.

Hope you never need repairs for it.....
by cougars1 ,Apr 22 '09
Pros: quiet and cheap to run...if you can keep it running
Cons: forget any kind of support if it breaks down.
Had one that we've used about 50 hours and it stopped working.     Just flat out stopped working. Charged up, but,  no  juice when you pull the lever.

Of course, no friggin' way you can lift thecover just to see if something came unplugged internally.  Requires some specialized screwdriver head to even look.     Lowe's, where we bought it, said they'd just ship it to teh repair center to even figure out what was wrong.     I'd take it to a repair location if i could.  We live in a community of 250,000 and can't find a B&D repair location within 150 miles.       B&D 800 number almost worthless  They're only on eastern time (I'm in the West) and you have to wait for 20-30 minutes to get someone to answer.  Though, at least, they don't transfer you to India, China or Argentina to talk to someone who speaks no English.
