Pros: lightweight, dual-angle head Cons: poorly made, inconvenient charger
Under my tree last Christmas I found a wide range of battery-driven tools. The Ms had found a 14.4-volt Porter-Cable drill for me (Great Tool!) and, since she had a few bucks to spare, had also picked up a Black & Decker Versapak screwdriver for...
One of my favorite places to window shop is Lowe’s, I could spend hours in there looking at household items and tools, Lowe’s is where I found the little screwdriver I wanted but I was a good girl and didn’t buy it at that time. My husband {I love ya bab ...
Pros: Replaceable rechargeable battery, good torque, allows hand tightening loosening, pivoting head. Cons: Slow recharge of battery.
I saw a mechanic use one of these to replace a bulb in my car. I have been using cordless drills for a couple of years now and thought this might be a good adjunct for drilling with the drill and driving with the cordless screwdriver. I found it nearby...
Pros: Enough power. Standard batteries. Fair price. Cons: Battery life. Comes with only 1 reversible flat/Phillips bit.
I bought this VP750 driver from the Black & Decker factory store. I think it was about $18 after all the discounts they were running. Have owned it a month and use it constantly.
The Versa Pak system is a cylindrical 3.6V battery that slips...

Great Double Position Screwdriver by teenage_tool ,Oct 15 '03
Pros: 2 position neck, removable battery, fast recharging time Cons: bulky charger, wobbly neck
Hi, I am a 13 year old, tool loving dude. This screwdriver is excellent. I originally bought this screwdriver for $30 at my local Ace Hardware shop. I was attracted by its flexible neck and its Versapack removable battery. The screwdriver has a decent amount of volts at 3.6. The trigger is very easy to use. Its like flipping a light switch on the wall. The neck is a little wobbly, but its secure enough to drive a screw into pretty much anything. If you use a scratch awl first for wood, you won't even have to predrill a hole. the battery charger is a bit bulky on the wall though. It is better than a huge converter box though. The double sided screwdriver bit rusted after some work in the bathroom, but those are cheap. I would pay a little more and get a bit more powerful driver because it sometimes skips on screws. Overall though, this product is great.
So handy, I bought another for my tool bag by lemmycaution ,Sep 30 '03
Pros: Powerful - pivot allows more pressure on tough to drive screws- easy change batteries Cons: None
The VersaPak 36 Volt 2 position pivot driver entered my life on a whim 3 years ago.
I found it so helpful that I've now bought another for my portable tool kit. (I'm a technology project manager and I never know what I'm going to find on the job...). We've remodeled a house with it, I've done lots of little odd jobs too.
Battery life is great (I assume the negative reviews regarding battery life are user issues - it's important to use ni-cad batteries until they're exhausted prior to recharging), the unit has been dropped and generally abused.
It's probably the most used tool in our house.
