Give your lawn a clean, professionally manicured appearance.

by tomandkellyo , Mar 26 '08
Pros: Ease-of-use; lightweight; comparatively low noise levels; price.
Cons: Not as powerful as most gas edgers.
When we purchased our house, it was apparent that the sidewalk edges had not been maintained in some time. Rather than hire a professional landscaping service to clean things up, I decided this was a project I could tackle myself. I had first tried a few ...

No mess, no fuss of gas and oil!

by jspahn , Dec 17 '08
Pros: Does a superb job of running narrow trenches and edging the lawn
Cons: Trench could be wider
Black & Decker Le750 Lawn Edger  I was in need of a tool to cut some sod where I wanted to do some landscaping around my home.  I owned a cordless trimmer/edger but it really didn't have the guts that I needed to cut pretty deep and ...

My yard looks better than ever after using this edger!

by attiefancy , Jul 11 '03
Pros: Easy to use. Yard looks twice as good! No gas engine to worry about.
Cons: Noisier than expected. Takes a few seconds to stop. Extension cord comes disconnected sometimes.
I debated between the Black & Decker and the Craftsman edgers. I bought this one because Black & De ...

It's OK

by lsturmfl , Jun 24 '09
Pros: Inexpensive, easy to use and set up
Cons: short handle, no dynamic brake, poor edge guide
I have owned this electric edger for 2 years. It is the replacement for an older, similar Weedeater model that I had for many years that is no longer made. So, I have had a great deal of experience with this sort of machine. This Black and Decker ...

WOW!! This thing really works!

by mike0877 , May 26 '02
Pros: Does a great job even with overgrowth. Great price. No gas. Easy use.
Cons: need extension cord. Loud.
Saying that this thing works is an understatement. I have, or should say had, an extreme overgrowth problem on my sidewalk, patio, and driveway. I'm not talking an inch or so, I'm talking a foot or so.
So I got this Black and Decker...

Beautiful Lawn Starts with Clean Edges

by dongeeL , Sep 01 '02
Pros: Works extremely well
Cons: Range is limited by the length of extension cord
I stayed away from another garden power tool as long as I could. Manual tools, no matter how pre-historic they are, were my idea of gardening tools. I even bought a reelmower!

My recent move to Upstate South Carolina got me to deal with...

Short Lived

by kimprice , Apr 09 '05
Pros: No yard looks finished without edging and this does it for a while.
Cons: Lasted about 1 year before the motor burned out.
I think edging is one of the most overlooked chores. I do not think a yard looks finished without edging and this edger does a good job of edging. It is fairly easy to use, and if you use the proper diameter extension cord and attach it properly, ...

Black & Decker LE750 Edge Hog UPDATE

by termy , Jan 17 '06
Pros: Lots Of Power, Quite, No Gas To Mix, No Bad Emmisions Easy To Maintain..
Cons: None
I found this edge hog to be very useful. For edging you do not need a gas-powered machine. This edger has plenty of power. So much power in fact, I never bogged it down all the way. This is of course for home use only, not for a landscaping service, ...

Be the envy of your neighbors

by denutter , Nov 07 '06
Pros: Produces nice results, durable, blade lasts long
Cons: Constantly have to empty clumps of mud if the soil is moist
My retired neighbor would edge my lawn from time to time and it looked amazing. Once you see how nice your lawn looks when groomed by an edger, you will want to maintain that look! I have approx. 400 linear feet to edge and probably could have used a ...

Get an edge on life

by lars4sho , May 01 '07
Pros: Much easier that the manual kind
Cons: Causes sparks when it touches the concrete
I live in the desert, and I have so many problems with my huge grassy yard, if I can find anything that works for me I am happy to share it with others. Last year I fired my landscaper, because I was constantly replacing patches of my grass. I decided to ...

Don't waste your money

by twopinez , Jan 29 '08
Pros: ?!?
Cons: Crappy design using cheap plastic brush holders causing early failure. Don't buy it!
I bought this unit in the summer and it only had light duty for the rest of the mowing season. During the following season the motor brushes burned out after minimal use. I attempted to buy new brushes and no one had any stock available, not even the ...

This is a piece of crap-worst designed tool ever

by mikeyg61New Member , Nov 22 '09
Pros: NOTHING GOOD AT ALL ABOUT IT
Cons: Blade destroys itself and needs replaced immediately. Forward blade rotation of blade is poor.
Black and Decker Lawn Edger-LE750.  THIS THING IS A PIECE OF JUNK.  The forward rotating blade will catch the sidewalk, and tear itself apart.  I absolutely hate it.  I had two previous Black and Decker edgers that I used, and they ...

Unimpressive
by bbolyard ,Apr 17 '04
Pros: Looks nice.
Cons: Loud. Doesn't last. Never made a nice straight edge.
I had a previous Black & Decker edger that lasted for at least 5 years. This one was larger but it never has worked as well as the old one. The blade mechanism seems loose. It never cuts very straight down the edge of the sidewalk. It is noisier than the small one I had before. Today, after 2 years it just basically made a racket and fell apart. I will look for a gas one, but forget this one.

Great for Homeowner with Average Yard
by jogreen ,Jul 07 '08
Pros: Reliable and sturdy tool for the average edging job performed by the homeowner.
Cons: Power cord requirement limits reaching capacity of the tool.
I have used this tool for about one year and it is a great tool for home use and if you have a small to medium size edging job. I would recommend starting the edges that you wish to trim with an alternative tool before using the Black and Decker Lawn Edger because it tends to be challenged by grass and weeds that have never been previously edged. After you get over this hurdle, it works very well and efficiently.

I prefer this tool to a gas powered one and it is reasonably priced and functions well for the average homeowner. If you clean and maintain it along with sharpening the blade on a regular basis it performs accurately and reliably.

After one year of light use Edger Dies
by newvine ,Jul 04 '05
Pros: Low up front cost to buy.
Cons: Not worth the cost when it breakes after one year of operation.
After one year of light duty service (my yard is only 1500 sq feet and I have 30 feet of driveway and 30 feet of side walk to edge)the teeth on the gears got worn-out. The motor would run but the cutting blade would not turn.
