Pros: Separate water Container, No need to move machine Cons: Everything Else
***UPDATE*** No Backlight on Clock - Basket Design flawed
Summary: After owning my former B&D Space Saver Coffee Maker for 12 years, it began to leak water on the counter from the spot where the water container meets the machine. No problem. I certainly had gotten my money's worth. So off I went to replace it with ... read more

Pros: OK if you need the space and have no other options Cons: Unreliable. Parts hard to get and expensive
Summary: This is my second (actually 3rd, see below) B&D ODC450. Between the two I have had two water reservoir valves go bad, a flickering backlight, and a carafe that had the the plastic top separate from the glass carafe (It's glued and the glue came ... read more

Pros: Space saver; Pours without dripping; automatic timer and shut-off; makes great coffee Cons: Stopped working with NO warning
Summary: I received this coffee pot for Christmas 2006, and in September 2007 I woke up to find my coffee was not ready. It broke! The display was gone...there was no warning. Of course, I had thrown the box and receipt away, so what to do? Well, while trying to ... read more

Pros: saves counter space and doesn't leak like the older models. Cons: It should work for more than a week or two.
Summary: I have had a B&D spacemaker since the late 80's or early 90's. They have all lasted a reasonable length of time. But not the ODC450. I've had 2 in less that 1 month! Both made a few pots of coffee and then the power just goes off. Since everything ... read more

Pros: Programmable feature and under the counter mounting concept are still valuable selling points. Cons: Mounting screws protruding into cabinet is unforgivable; if pot lip leaks you'll curse it daily.
Summary: First, we have had many versions of Black & Decker's "Spacemaker" coffee makers since they first came out ages ago. They have been very good for us. Every new design seems to have a different mounting pattern, however, so that the underside of our ... read more

Pros: Makes decent Coffee and Timer Feature seems to work well. Cons: Basket pops out, no battery back up for timer,no "on demand" hot plate.
Summary: I bought this unit as a present, my lady likes her morning coffee. The mounting bolts do protrude into the cabinet area, flat head bolts going down would work much better and make more sense. The Basket pops out about 1/2 an inch while brewing (usually ... read more

Pros: The product looks rather nice on the store shelf. Cons: read review
Summary: Terrible product, terrible installation instructions and even worse customer service. We had 2 spacemaker coffee pots prior; they worked great, and each lasted about 8 years so we didnt hesitate to buy the ODC450. Our pleasure with B&D products ... read more

Pros: inexpensive Cons: pump faulty, heating unit faulty, overall not good kitchen appliances
Summary: Black and Decker makes outstanding power tools--and that is their area of expertise. When they bagan making small appliances they were awful, and I have always been hoping for improvement, but this has not happened. They are substandard, and still

Pros: The LED / no power / no coffee problem has an easy fix. See below:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/84058798@N00/3735381454/ Cons: No power, no LED, no coffee.
Summary: Like others, my less than year old Black and Decker ODC450 just stopped working. No power, no LED, nothing. After reading these reviews, I will never buy another product from B&D again. To me, their name used to be synonymous with

Pros: Great coffee, sturdy carafe. Cons: None for me, but obviously there are some common flaws
Summary: It makes great tasting coffee, and I think I had the leaking problem once. I just make sure to put the pot all the way in, and it is fine. Granted, I may have just gotten lucky, since it is made in China where the have no quality control. Another plus

Pros: I love the space saving convenience. I also like the removable water reservoir. Cons: The hot plate rust and water all over the place.
Summary: This is our third spacemaker coffee pot. I loved the first two. When the first one failed after 8 years, we bought the second. When that one failed, I bought the third, thinking I could again slip it into the previous under-the-cabinet

Pros: Removable water resevoir Cons: Breaks often. Not worth the box it came in!
Summary: This ODC450 was the first B&D coffeemaker we purchased (Oct. 2007). Within two weeks it had leaked coffee all over the counter! With much difficulty, I got "Applica" (who now makes B&D) to send me a replacement coffee basket. That worked okay for

Pros: None I can think of. Cons: Everything about it, and especially the cheap foreign electrical parts.
Summary: I bought a Black & Decker ODC450 2 years ago when replacing all my kitchen appliances with black and stainless. I was reasonably satisfied for the first year. Except for a little condensation drip from one corner of the filter, it worked fine -- no

Pros: None. Cons: One second it works, the next it doesn't.
Summary: We have purchased two of these coffeemakers in the past year. The first one quit working while we were away and we thought that maybe we had a power surge. We purchased another one because the space saving hardware was already in place and we are short

Pros: Modern, sleek-looking. Under cabinet design saves on counter space. Cons: Parts break easily, weak carafe, buggy electronics, poorly-designed, replacement parts not available.
Summary: This piece of garbage deserves to be taken out back and sledgehammered! I've had it less than 6 months, and in that time a plastic piece broke off surrounding where the water container hooks into the rear section, which my husband in a caffeine-depraved

Pros: Works great, no problems. Good coffee. Carafe doesn't drip. Cons: Back light on display doesn't stay on long enough. Not as good as old model.
Summary: I bought this new model after I broke the carafe on my 12 year old previous spacemaker. My old unit still worked, but given the age, and the price of the replacement carafe ($15!), I decided it was time for a new model. I bought it at my local hardware

Pros: only undercabinet available. This is actually a con because you're stuck with it Cons: basket pops out causing messy overflows while brewing
Summary: It may brew a decent cup of coffee, but any appliance can do that with a good coffee brand, and someone who knows how much to use. The design stinks, and I don't thing anyone should have to do what others have resorted to - to fix it. B&D should be

Pros: Sleeker look, easier pour from the pot than the older version Cons: COFFEE ON THE COUNTER! This thing LEAKS!
Summary: This is coffeemaker #2 from Black and Decker. The first one still worked but was looking "old" so I thought these newer version would be a great Christmas gift! MISTAKE!The thing seems to have a mind of it's own! When you push the pot too hard at night

Pros: Great design Cons: Computer modules don't work. Poor quality control.
Summary: We have had the same experience. The first one's clock would gain 1/2 a day. We returned it and the second would not allow us to set the time. It kept going into program mode. Nothing we tried worked. Returning for final time. Sounds like B&D got a
