Well, what can I say. I'm on my third model of this toaster. Thank God for the 1 year warrenty. After 4 months the toast switch broke and the only way I could make toast was to hold the switch manually.

In the last 4 years, I have bought 5 black and decker toasters. They have all had a problem with the electronic plunger that holds the toast switch in place until your toast is ready at the desired setting. The plunger just stops working and the switch will not stick... so, no toast after the first 5 months. You can still use the oven dial. The body loosens up in a couple of months and is very hard to clean. I would never buy another Black and Decker toaster.

Received this toaster oven as a Christmas gift. After 4 months, the toast button stopped working. Called for warranty. They sent us a replacement (costs $5) but the replacement didn't work right out of the box. Called for warranty again. They will send another at no charge- but who wants a replacement piece of junk. Asked for a different model. They will send an "upgrade" but now it won't work with the mounting unit. So I am on my 3rd in 4 months.
This seems to be a problem with the B&D brand overall. Had similar problems with a blender. I will not buy another Black & Decker product again.

Pros: Under the counter and price (which is why we keep buying).
Cons: Parts continue to fail, poor quality.

We have been three of these and the parts keep failing...NOT RECOMMENDED. The elements have gone bad on two of them and the third took forever to toast. Toasting is uneven as well.

I wish I read these reviews before I bought this toaster oven but I thought toaster ovens were all the same.

This toaster doesn't work. I have it set to the darkest level and I still have to toast things twice to get them brown. It also toasts unevenly so part of my bagel is brown and parts are burnt.

I tried the oven part and it doesn't worth either. It takes forever to bake something in the oven.

FYI.. the outside of the oven gets really hot. I had an older model that stayed much cooler.

Don't buy this product. It is a waste of your money.

Who designed the crumb tray to be pulled out the back? We have this mounted under the cabinet so everytime we need to clean it, we have to pull it off the mounting and shake it out over the sink! The old design TRO600 had a "trap door" so you could leave it mounted and put a plate underneath the toaster oven to catch all the crumbs.

Here is the way I've solved the problem...every month, I take in my used toaster oven back to the store and exchange it for a new one! That way I don't have to deal with the problem of cleaning it. Got this idea off the internet.

Maybe others will do the same so that Black and Decker will go back to the old design. When I called their customer service to voice my complaint they were not at all concerned. Also got no response from their Web site.

I picked up this B & D toaster oven at a great price. I use it for toast...period ! It worked fine for about 8 months. Then this one morning I flip the switch and the toast button won't work. I had to "bake" my toast that morning. Called B & D ( Customer Service was very nice) and they sent me a new TRO 360. I had to send them $5 and the plug off of the cord.

I got the new TRO 360, plugged it in....the same problem!! I called Customer Service, and again they were very friendly. They are sending me an upgrade...the TRO 5050.

Bought a B&D 360 as a back-up for my under-cabinet unit. Thought I better get one while on sale in case new models not compatible with mount. Original unit lasted and lasted. Crumb tray drop-down door not hard to deal with. The new TRO 360 sat on the shelf for years (where it did its best work) to make a grand entrance. And grand it was, POW, 15 seconds after launch a top element explodes. too late for warranty replacement, and store gone where purchased. Same elements in old unit, a hour and some welding and ready for retest. This time we had glowing success for (2) minutes into toast and POW, another element explodes. Steamed yes, give up, never. Welded in both bottom elements from old unit. I now have a new TRO360 with the heart of a 80 year old. As I slide the crummy crumb tray out the back of the toaster and watch the crumbs raked off inside, I fondly remember the melodic ding of the old toaster (new unit silent but deadly) as a call to a new day and breakfast. Maybe B&D should wake up TOO.

I have used MANY ovens, and this is by far the best unit for the money period. I have used mine for 5 years with out ANY problems. Now I have used it so much the spring finally wore through the connector on the door where it connects. It still works but the spring action is gone and I have to be careful when I open the door.

I must have another one, this is my "buddy" in the morning!
