I purchased this pot based on the good reviews I read. It is wonderful. The four of us in the household all drink coffee and we are impressed with the great taste, especially considering how quickly the pot brews. Pot has a space compensator if you don't want to use a water filter (which I don't use and still get a superior cup of coffee). Another plus is that the glass carafe pours without spilling! Great job, Braun!

I've had my first Braun for almost 8 years. It recently started making inconsistent strength coffee so I decided it was time to move on (frequent cleanings only helped so much). I went with this model one since it was the closest match to what I had. It does not make the coffee hot enough, it can really only be described as "very warm". My old one had 2 temp settings, this one does not. I may return it after a few tries. It's too bad since it makes really great tasting coffee.

I never considered myself a coffee addict, nor do I think that my wife and I are fussy coffee "snobs". But, there is just something very stressful if your coffee is bad in the morning.

Recently we had to replace our KitchenAid machine that served us well for 4 years. My wife was in a hurry and picked up a Melitta Grind & Brew from Target (see review there). We struggled for two weeks, finally resorting to convenience store coffee on the way to work. Needless to say, that was the big hint that we are approaching coffee "snobdom".

After reading the reviews here and elsewhere, we ordered the Braun KF 180. All we wanted was a good cup of coffee in the morning. We were cautiously optimistic and after several rinse cycles to purge that factory, plastic odor, the coffee was perfect!

Scary how much we were stressed through this ordeal. Equally scary is how we now "worship" this new Braun machine. Hallelujah!!
