Pros: Automatic start, flavor select, heating element, 12-cup capacity, easy to clean. Cons: The carafe is somewhat fragile.
As someone who just recently got into the "world" of coffee, I have to say that the Braun 12-cup FlavorSelect was a great introduction. A good present I received this coffee maker from my father-in-law as a Hannukah present. He bought it ...
I’ll probably never own a Mercedes or BMW, but I’m intimate with the fetishistic devotion they inspire. You see, I’m on my third Braun automatic coffeemaker. And the second one wasn’t even broken.
Pros: Great tasting coffee, brews quickly, filters water, programmable heating plate minimizes burnt coffee, looks sharp. Cons: Pricey, but frequently on sale. Water filter cartridges are a (modest) extra expense.
My wife and I bought this coffeemaker after our latest "freebie" coffeemaker from Gevalia died. What a difference! We love this unit. It brews great-tasting coffee quickly. The "flavor dial" which can be used to control the intensity of the coffee...
I bought the Braun 180 after my Braun 185 started to give me problems after years of faithful service. I would have purchased another 185 but I just missed the end of their production. The 180 is almost the same machine but without the temperature ...
Pros: Makes robust flavored coffee. Easy to operate. Cons: None much.
Before we bought this, our family had a rather lousy and unpredictable way of making coffee. We would just take some beans, ground them, and filter water into a metal cup. Sometimes the coffee would be overpoweringly bitter, other times it would be ...
Pros: great tasting coffee from this Cons: warmer is starting to wear
This is a must have kitchen product!! This Braun coffeemaker is one great appliance to have in your kitchen, office or where ever you like to enjoy your coffee. It has a two hour timer, so if you leave it on, by accident, it will turn itself off. Also,...
Yes, you will get great coffee with this coffeemaker, and fast. But as you stumble around the kitchen bleary-eyed before that first cup, be careful. Why? The "on" button is on the front, just at the same level as the edges of many dishes or plates. Sev ...
Pros: Great Coffee, Pause & Pour, Programmable Cons: Worked only 8 months!
We bought this coffee maker to replace a Krups. We loved our Krups but found the designs changed so much we couldn't find one to our liking so we picked the Braun. We were very happy with it until one morning after only 8 months of ownership - NO...
Pros: One of the greatest cups of coffee I've ever had!! Cons: I'm brewing Coffee in a saucepan. Can't afford a new carafe at $30 shipped
It's simple! Wonderful coffee but the carafe breaks very easily. Before you by the machine look on the net to find out how much you will be gouged for a replacement carafe. They don't seem to be available at major retailers as replacements. Braun itself...
Pros: Makes exceptional good coffee. Cons: Durability
This is my third unit of the same kind, and two out of three broke within two years. The first was nicely repaired under warranty, then broke again a year later. The second broke just after a year for the first time and it costs about as much to have it...
This is an easy to use and easy to clean coffeemaker that brews excellent tasting HOT coffee. and it's programable too! And a great price! I replaced an 11 year old Braun that still worked great but wear & tear had taken it's toll. Unfortunately, I...
Pros: Makes a great cup of coffee & has non-spill carafe Cons: None as far as I am concerned
I purchased this pot based on the good reviews I read. It is wonderful. The four of us in the household all drink coffee and we are impressed with the great taste, especially considering how quickly the pot brews. Pot has a space compensator if you don't want to use a water filter (which I don't use and still get a superior cup of coffee). Another plus is that the glass carafe pours without spilling! Great job, Braun!
Pros: Great tasting coffee. Cons: Not HOT enough, really just "very warm".
I've had my first Braun for almost 8 years. It recently started making inconsistent strength coffee so I decided it was time to move on (frequent cleanings only helped so much). I went with this model one since it was the closest match to what I had. It does not make the coffee hot enough, it can really only be described as "very warm". My old one had 2 temp settings, this one does not. I may return it after a few tries. It's too bad since it makes really great tasting coffee.
Finally, A Great Cup of Coffee! by chezhds ,Mar 22 '04
Pros: Great coffee. Simple & quick to use. Easy to clean. Cons: Had to wait a week for delivery.
I never considered myself a coffee addict, nor do I think that my wife and I are fussy coffee "snobs". But, there is just something very stressful if your coffee is bad in the morning.
Recently we had to replace our KitchenAid machine that served us well for 4 years. My wife was in a hurry and picked up a Melitta Grind & Brew from Target (see review there). We struggled for two weeks, finally resorting to convenience store coffee on the way to work. Needless to say, that was the big hint that we are approaching coffee "snobdom".
After reading the reviews here and elsewhere, we ordered the Braun KF 180. All we wanted was a good cup of coffee in the morning. We were cautiously optimistic and after several rinse cycles to purge that factory, plastic odor, the coffee was perfect!
Scary how much we were stressed through this ordeal. Equally scary is how we now "worship" this new Braun machine. Hallelujah!!
