Great for transferring vinyl to digital
by thomas823 ,Feb 01 '06
Pros: Reasonably priced. Very user friendly. Lots of options for audio input. Cons: Doesn't totally eliminate EXTREME pops and crackles. However, it does tone them down significantly.
This is one of the most useful items I've bought for my computer. Not only does it allow me to transfer my vinyl albums to digital (either to burn to CDs or put on my iPod, but I can also edit songs. For example, the "wolf with the red roses" introduction to Meatloaf's "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth" can grow tedious after a while. With EZ audio you can just eliminate it altogether. Quite useful. Also, it does a decent job eliminating minor pops, crackles and hisses from vinyl albums or audio tapes. I highly recommend this product.

Great Sound Transferring utility
by mcenerny ,Feb 24 '04
Pros: Easy to use and set up, Sound quality very good, Output options very useful. Cons: The controls for manipulating the sound tracks were a bit daunting for a novice.
I found the EZaudio transfer and restoration kit to be very user friendly and performed a really good job of mastering line input & cd input and transferring to MP3s which then transferred to cd and/or smart media. The sound quality from streaming audio to output was very good. I bought it to transfer vinyl recordings to digital and found it to be very functional for this purpose. I recommend this program to anyone who wants to master music from one media to another without a steep learning curve.

Great for transfer of LPs to CD format
by morriewar ,Jan 07 '08
Pros: Easy to use and set up. Cons: Advanced editing functions a little hard to learn.
Unlike the last reviewer, I only use this software for transferring vinyl lps to cd format (have never used it for MP3 files) and have never had a problem with it - works smoothly, easy instructions, easy setup, and great results every time.

Stay away from this one
by max72118 ,Oct 21 '03
Pros: Cheap Cons: Requires upgrade after 20 uses.
This is another case where Sony has used third-party software - has no way of controlling its use or updating it. Sony did a good job putting this together, but used a third party .MP3 encoder that only works 20 times, before you have to pay to upgrade it to the unlimited version. Nothing tells you that on the front end! It would be different if this was the first time that Sony has pulled this crap, but they are repeat offenders (see Sony CD1000 and failure to maintain Adaptec software for the Mac). Stay away from this and give wide berth to any Sony product that is software dependent - they are unable to maintain operability.
