Blokus... a quick strategy and challenge game by plumbly ,Feb 08 '06
Pros: Fun, quick, easy to learn and understand Cons: None that my family sees.
Blokus is a great game. Each play starts with 21 differently shaped pieces. the object is to get as many of your pieces in to play on the board, and end up with the least amount of "squares" left after you can no longer move. You place your pieces on the board so no sides of your own color match, they may only touch at corners of your color. You need to spread out on the board as quickly as possible and try to "blok" the other players.
This game can easily be played by my 6 year old without difficulty. It plays quickly and, most importantly, they ENJOY to play it and it makes them think.
The only downside is, that it becomes wicked easy to use all your pieces up if there are only two players.
Pros: Easy to Learn, Fun, Fast Playing Cons: Engineers will often destroy you.
This is a great game for 2, 3, or 4 players. It's easy to learn and changes with each round. I've only had it for a few days but I am already putting it up there with longer, more complicated games such as Puerto Rico or Settlers of Catan.
