Pros: Solid, rugged feel, compact size, thorough workout, lifetime warranty, excellent cust. svc. Cons: None. Would recommend this unit to anyone.
I have been using the Bodycraft Galena with Leg Press 3 to 4 times a week since purchasing it in August 2003. The dealer had actually recommended a Body Solid Machine, but when he tried to install it, it did not fit (Body Solid gyms are 83 inches tall ...

Galena home gym with leg press
by no1missbb ,Dec 31 '04
Pros: Has everything you would want for a great workout. SOLID! Impressive machine! Cons: None
I just love this machine. It is solid, sturdy, and you get a great piece of equipment for a great price. I have hit the "age" where arthritis had hit my joints, had lost alot of upper body strength, and just could not use alot of these machines that are all cables which required you to have alot of upper body strenth to use them. This machine, no matter what exercise you do, you have something to "hold on to" and each and every exercise is easy for us beginners, and you just work your way up. My husband was amazed by the solidity of the machine, and thought the assembly directions were great. I actually enjoy and look forward to my workout. I had tried using the bowflex and the total gym, but never had the strength to use them. This machine is not like that. I have only been using it for 2 weeks, 4 times a week, and cannot believe the change in my body already, and I feel like I am regaining strength each and every day. I could not be more happy. Highly recommend this to everyone, especially us old 50 years young!

Highly recommend

Pros: Solid, clean movement, does everything. I like the pec fly movement compared to other brands. Cons: I can't think of anything other than the local dealer I bought it from.
I agree wholeheartedly with the reviewer from 2003. I bought the Galena with leg press and stack guards in August 2004 and am very pleased with it. All parts seem to fit well together and the operation is smooth. It's a pleasure to use and I'm no body building jar head.
In addition it just looks good, but that's no reason to buy one of these things. I particularly wanted the pec exercises this unit provides. The Body Solid, Hoist, and others seem to have a multi-levered action when doing these exercises, which may be advantageous. But for an amateur, that flexibility feels awkward to me. The Galena does allow for a flexible type of pec exercise, but again, I enjoy using the fixed elbow pec fly action most times, instead.
I might add that the other reviewer states the weight stack is for 200 lbs. However, when doing the leg press, the weight is doubled so you have a 400 lb range for that one exercise.

Excellent Home Gym
by tiger850 ,Jul 28 '05
Pros: Good construction
Smooth operation
Good combination of exercises
Fits me well. Cons: Build instructions are pictures only. Very min instructions. Could use better picture/steps.
Excellent value for home gym. I shopped all around and found this to be a well constructed good priced unit.
Gym comes in 4 boxes and takes about 4 hours to build. But that was kinda fun if you liked building swingsets for your kids!
