Pros: Ties up almost all of the loose ends of the series Cons: Leaves you wanting more
The Ender Saga is perhaps the most famous and well known of all of Orson Scott Card's works and consists of two separate series of four massive novels each. Children of the Mind is the last volume of the first series and focuses mostly on ...
Pros: Finishes up one of the most captivating series I have ever read. Cons: Ender is not the focus and the science is even harder then before.
Orson Scott Card has made a name for himself in his books that paint fantastic worlds with plots that question and ponder over our human ethics. His most famous series is a science fiction saga about a young boy named Ender. Through the series we...
Pros: Too long. Way too long. Ugh. Cons: Scares dogs. Tastes better than asphalt.
Hey monkey, I thought you'd quit. Not me, I'm like hemorrhoids - you think I'm gone and then bam! I'm all over your butt again like what? You've clearly learned little in your absence. Homey don't need no education. See that degree on ...
Pros: Wonderfully written, powerful story, intriguing plot Cons: Don't expect Ender's Game or Ender's Shadow, its a whole new ballpark
One of the first things people say when they read Children of the Mind, is what happened to the Ender we all know and loved from Ender's Game. This is not a novel for the young at heart who seek adventure and battles, for Ender has grown past his...
Pros: I can't think of much Cons: very dry, far too much introspection
Years ago, I discovered Orson Scott Card through the twin bookends of "Ender's Game" and "Speaker for the Dead." Both of these books thoroughly enthralled me, and to this day, I can re-read either one of them without a hint of...
Pros: Finishes the "Quartet" Cons: The series dragged on and on...
The Ender quartet is wrapped up in "Children of the Mind". This book wraps up the loose ends of "Ender's Game", "Speaker for the Dead" and "Xenocide". Ender, Jane, Valentine 1 & 2, Peter 2, the Bug Queen and...
Pros: A great, compelling book. Cons: can get boring at times
Jane, the living computer entity faces extinction as Starways Congress sends the order to shut down the entire ansible network in attempt to get rid of her. Peter Wiggin is trying to stop the Lusitania Fleet, and Young Val is searching for new...
Is it over yet? After reading this book, I was terribly disapointed. The Ender that we all fell in love with dissapeared in book 2. I relate it to Star Wars in a way.. In Star Wars and Empire Strikes back, Luke was mostly a farmboy and an oaf, but...
The last of the Ender series by cokochan ,Oct 11 '03
Pros: Great end to Ender's story, keeps you hooked. Cons: Complicate storyline as expected, read other books first.
The last book in the Ender quartet, Children of the Mind tells a completely different story than where we started with Ender's Game. Card's writing style changes dramatically and the story is much more philosophical. However, for faithful readers of Card's series it is a fitting end for the story of Ender Wiggin.
Digital, First Meetings: In the Enderverse First Meetings is a collection of three novellas (plus the original "Ender's Game") that journey into the origins and the destiny of one Ender Wiggin....
Paperback, Zanna's Gift: A Life in Christmases When the Pullman family lost their eldest son to an unexpected illness just before Christmas, it was devastating to all of them, but especially to fou...
