Punk Told By It's Founders

by skamasterdevin , Aug 11 '07
Pros: fast-paced, told by the punks themselves
Cons: confusing at times
Please Kill Me is a dirty, detailed, honest, dangerous, and uncensored look at the origins of one of the most misunderstood genres of music in the world today; punk rock. It does not hold anything back, and is very honest. Everything written in the book ...

This is HOT!

by nitzerebb , Jan 03 '07
Pros: Oh god this book is good! The history of punk is revealed at last!
Cons: Just a matter of my personal opinion, but don't let it sway you.

by bethy , Feb 11 '00
Pros: quick read, fun, informative, juicy

The only good history of punk.

by pinqkandi , Feb 04 '01
Pros: detailed, gives the best history of punk
Cons: mainly centers around New York scene.
Please Kill Me was the first and is still the only book that gives a real history of punk rock. The book is divided into parts, each about a certain period. Please Kill me also contains many written pieces from many of the original punk people, such as...

Oral History is the Best Histroy
by ashliew182 ,Jul 05 '08
Pros: The book starts off with Iggy Pop who is known of the creator of punk.
Cons: This book provides a limited history of punk and can get very boring at times.
The cover and title of this book crasped my attention right away. This book is for underage kids discovering punk and punk veterans
alike. This is one of the many books that has attempted to stamp a time a place on punk begins & history which can't be done. This oral history of punk rock is not the best I have read but I enjoyed reading it and may read it again. This book can get boring at times because of the fact that they left out so much musically and globally.
