Pros: Vintage Plum with a dash of competence Cons: Seventeen bucks seems a little steep
Let's say Valentine's Day is fast approaching and you have a relationship disaster on your hands. Could be fear of commitment, could be that forty-year-old virgin, could be any disaster - it really doesn't matter. The question's not, "How would you solve ...
Pros: A quick read full of the humor and characters found in the "real" books Cons: A little too short for the price on the dust jacket!
Janet Evanovich is the author of the wildly popular and (mostly) entertaining Stephanie Plum numbered series of books (One for the Money, Two for the Dough, Three to Get Deadly, etc.). To date she has fourteen books in this series and four ...
Pros: Quick, light read Cons: Unmentionables still not well developed
Plum Lovin' is the second book in Janet Evanovich's "Between the Numbers" Stephanie Plum books. This is basically a "series within a series" of books about half the lengths of the regular books in the series, with a lighter tone. It's also kind of ...
Pros: Funny, short easy read, endearing characters Cons: Lacks substance
One of my all time fictional characters is a female bounty hunter by the name of Stephanie Plum. Stephanie is the main character in the number mystery series by Janet Evanovich. In this series Stephanie describes her success as a bounty hunter as being ...
Pros: good pacing, many familiar characters, good new characters Cons: maybe trying to cram too much into such a short book
Many years ago author Janet Evanovich created the character of Stephanie Plum, bounty hunter extraordinaire. Stephanie used to be a lingerie buyer and used to be married. Now she’s working for her cousin Vinnie as a not quite successful bounty ...
Pros: Very funny Cons: No mystery, character development was a bit lacking
As I’ve said in previous reviews, I’m a Stephanie Plum fan (that’s Janet Evanovich’s series featuring a bumbling bounty hunter which is hilarious). I even enjoyed Evanovich’s small detour that she touts as a “between the numbers” book with VISIONS OF ...
Pros: Goofy, fun, plenty of Bob the dog. Cons: Not especially exciting, but that's okay too.
Stephanie Plum. Woman. Bounty hunter. Has amazing luck and too many men looking to hook up with her which isnt too bad since theyre all exceptionally hot. Enjoys doughnuts. Often has problems and exploding cars. If ...
Pros: Fans will appreciate it Cons: supernatural story line ruins the reality of the rest of the series.
When we go on vacations the kids are in the back of the mini van doing their own things, and my wife and I are in the front listening to audio books. We get to take turns choosing, and we usually listed to about 4 books during a normal trip. Last ...
Great, but not quite a classic... by randomheroine ,Mar 05 '07
Pros: a nice treat while we wait for the new book, quick to read, Diesel :) Cons: seemed like she was in a hurry to write it, lacks suspense
I love Janet Evanovich and I love the Stephanie Plum series, but I was slightly disappointed by this book.
I know its meant as a teaser while we wait anxiously for the next book. It was quick to read (because of its smaller size) and characters like Diesel, Lula, and Grandma Mazur are always entertaining.
I got the feeling (and it might just be me) that Evanovich kinda rushed to get this finished. The wedding part was over and done with in a few paragraphs; kinda anticlimatic for me. Not as much suspense in this book. Plus, I wasn't exactly thrilled with the change in role. Stephanie, who can't even solve her own romantic issues, goes from playing bounty hunter to playing cupid.
Maybe I'm just not a big fan of the out-of-the-series book. I don't recommend buying it. Get it at the library if you really want to read it. Can't wait for the next one though!
I have loved and craved every single Stephanie Plum book on the market. If you haven't started reading the series, start out at One for the Money, and count your way up. This last one was cute, but definitely not my favorite. I sat down and read it within an hour and a half and I paid $12.00 for it. It was a little brief and not very plot-progressing for it to be worth the buy.
