Jeanne Lemlin knows how to cook! by desertsage ,Sep 08 '04
Pros: Easy (usually), DELICIOUS recipes. Cons: No pictures, soft cover book WON'T STAY OPEN while cooking. Some hard to find ingredients.
Every recipe I've tried from this cook book has been either good, great, or fantastic. From the earthy, hearty Mushroom Barley Casserole to the Zucchini Swiss Pie... it's like heaven. I used to just cook meat dishes all of the time, even though I didn't really like meat. A lot of the reason was that my husband really likes meat, and also just how I was raised. Since discovering Jeanne's cookbooks, however, virtually every home cooked meal I serve is vegetarian. As for my meat eating husband.. he has no complaints, in fact, all I receive from him are compliments. I couldn't be happier, since I'm not big on eating dead things, and these recipes are just SO flavorful! I would recommend this to ANYBODY who has even a bit of an open mind about trying new things and cutting back on or not eating meat.
