Pros: Easy to follow recipes. DELICIOUS. Cons: Some recipes might be pricey...they also make LARGE quantities.
I am a HUGE fan of Ina Garten, aka Barefoot Contessa. I have all of her cookbooks and am a devotee of her television show on Food Network. Yes, she lives in The Hamptons, is married to the former head of Yale Business School, and has more money than ...
Pros: Her cheese and dessert platter ideas are life savers! Cons: Ina doesn't like or use cilantro in her guacamole. It's her only fault! ;)
Ina is the arbiter of all things fabulous! I'm a total foodie. It happened accidentally. I was living in a new town and only had my cooking to keep me sane. A passion for wonderful food bubbled to the surface and I've been going strong ever since. ...
Pros: delicious recipes, great photos, casual style Cons: some of the dishes are extremely rich

Pros: Lots of flavor, ingredients can be found with minimum of effort, gorgeous layout Cons: Bland palates will need to dial back on some ingredients.
I love all the Barefoot Contessa cookbooks. Ina has done a superb job of creating recipes that the home cook can duplicate. Ingredients are common enough that even in remote areas can be found with a minimum of research. The recipes are easy to make and Ina's big on flavor. I've made a lot of recipes from cookbooks and my most common complaint is that they often lack any real flavor or texture. Not so with any of the Barefoot Contessa recipes.
If you like to entertain, this book is for you. Complex flavors with little effort. That's the way to go!
