The Last Hero - starts slowly but gains momentum all the way to the end

by captaind captaind is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Books, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Oct 01 '09
Pros: Doesn't start out too well...
Cons: ...but definitely reaches its quota of belly laughs by the end.

Make way for The Last Hero of the Discworld!

by arianej, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Oct 16 '06

'Dead heroes, the living empty...'

by ALawston , Mar 03 '02

Last Hero? First Rate!

by Loz , Mar 04 '02
Pros: Wonderfully written, beautifully illustrated. Funny and moving.
Cons: Predictable ending. Confusing for new readers.
There are some writers for whom the design of their books is synonymous with their existence. In the UK, you cannot think of Iain Bank's books without those striking black and white covers. And similarly, UK readers cannot think of Terry Pratchett books...

Work of Literature, Work of Art

by kidkourage , Nov 14 '02
Pros: wonderful illustrations, great storyline, many prominent characters, humorous and dramatic
Cons: ends a bit abruptly, perhaps too many previously encountered characters to interest newbies
Terry Pratchett's 'The Last Hero' won't be the longest Discworld publication you ever read, but it will surely be one of the largest! Illustrated by well-loved Discworld artist Paul Kidby, this book is a feast for the eyes as well as the mind. Mr....
