Pros: Attractive and extremely Quiet. No need to prewash. Simple Controls. Cons: Must be wired in, and non-quick cycles are very long.
After reading reviews on Epinions, and on Consumer Reports, we decided to take advantage of a local appliance store's end of year sale. We got a SHE43M05UC, aka the Bosch Evolution 300. We like the simple controls, and it was ranked as being the ...

Pros: Extremely quiet, nice looking stainless finish, cleans well. Cons: Sears can't quickly send repair people to fix their dishwasher.
Researched the hell out of many dishwashers using Consumer Reports, Epinions, etc. We bought the Bosch from Sears because of many good reviews and JD Power awards for quietness and reliability. The washer IS very quiet which we love. The washer ...

Pros: Super quiet w/visual indicators of cycle progress; everything CLEAN & DRY at cycle end. Cons: None so far. I expect to return to e-pinions in six months to update.
To replace an aging GE Patrician V, we started our search with CU ratings to eliminate "non-starters" and then began the footwork. After visiting several dealers (big box and local retailers) we decided the Bosch engineering was superior --- then we ...

Love This Machine
by deshively ,Oct 09 '08
Pros: Quiet, stylish, works really well, and easy to use. Cons: Don't really like the silverware holder, but not enough to discourage the purchase
We bought the Bosch after our 12 year old GE profile started to have pieces falling off during the wash cycle, although we could stick them back on, figured it was time to replace it. Did some research and shopped around for the best prices. Decided that we wanted to go with a really energy efficient machine that was also quiet. With the quick wash we really don't need any of the other settings since the dishes always come out really clean. The interior stays bright and shiny with our hard water. Took a bit of getting used to just because it loads differently, but that was more about human error than the machine. If your not familiar with wiring you should have someone else install it. I thought it was weird that Sears wanted to sell us a power cord. Silly me thinking an appliance should come with a cord. Not too hard to install if your somewhat handy with basic plumbing and wiring.

Don't buy Bosch!
by jrusoff ,Jan 23 '08
Pros: It's very quiet since it won't turn on Cons: My hands are very chapped from washing dishes
I bought this horror 2 months ago. Once installed it would not turn on. I asked the shop I bought it from for a replacement, and they said they had to talk to Bosch. Bosch said they would send a repair service to fix it rather than replacing it. Great. A week later the service tech says the recirculating pump is bad, and they are back ordered. Two weeks later the pump arrives, but now Bosch tells me their service dept is booked for another three weeks. They could have replaced the unit a month ago, but instead I have to wait 2 months to find out whether the unit really works or not. I would avoid Bosch at all cost. If anything is wrong with your unit they won't stand behind it. It's just not worth the headache. Any reputable manufacturer would replace a faulty unit that is brand new.

Cleans dishes well and quiet, but walls stay wet
by drpjfitz ,Nov 06 '08
Pros: Cleans well, quiet. Cons: Walls stay wet, and you will have a mildew smell in most climates.
It is quiet and cleans dishes well. But, the walls stay wet. I have turned up the water heater, and we have used Jet Dry as recommended. The walls are still wet. When you live in humid Louisiana, this is mildew city. The manufacturer says this is normal. Excuse me? The dishwasher always smell after a few days unless we run a fan on it and use towers. We have to use Dishwasher Magic to stop the smell, another cost and annoyance. Using Jet Dry is another unneccesary expense.
We called in a repairman to check, and all the components work "correctly." So, yes, this is how the product works. I suspect they cut corners on the drying to meet new energy standards.
Unless you live in Colorado or the desert, or like the aroma of mildew, absolutely do not buy this product.
