I wanted to like this machine! by westeagle ,Mar 18 '09
Pros: Incredibly quiet. Looks good Cons: Leaves specks on glassware -drives me crazy!
I replaced a perfectly functioning GE mid-range dishwasher that cleaned excellently, only because we wanted to upgrade the quality of our appliances which came with the house. In addition, our open-concept kitchen/ sitting area was swamped with the noise of the GE, so we wanted a new machine with the famous reputation as being the "quietest dishwasher built in the USA". Bosch was one I always wanted and had heard great things about. I bought the top of the line SHE98M05UC unit of the Evolution series. First, I was truly impressed by the quietness -it wasn't much louder than our refrigerator! I did several loads of dishes and each time there were specks on the glassware. I varied the level of rinse agent to no avail. This was really annoying. I tried the most water consumptive cycle to see if the brute volume of fresher water would help... -still speckles (of food or something?) on some of the glasses! I made sure there weren't chunks of food on the dishes before washing, and cleaned out the filters (they were clean anyway) before washing. We bought it at Sears so can return it no problem within 90 days. Currently I'm researching for a replacement.
Ultra Quite and great performance by baxterlf ,Feb 03 '09
Pros: Quite Lots of cycles Easy to use Great cleaning Sanitizing cycles Cons: Bit harder to install than cheaper models due to the extra sound proofing.
This diswasher is simply amazing. Not only are you unable to hear it even if you stand right next to it but it gets even tough Pots and pans clean. The choice of 9 cycles gives a great amount of flexibility. The machine reminds you when to add rinse agent and gives a count down to when it will be finished while running. The fact that their is no heating coil has not impacted the drying ability. It works best if you wait about 30 min to 1 hour after it says it is done to remove the dishes. Otherwise they are hot. Slight water still remains on plastics and rimmed items. I would highly recommend this dishwasher. It is worth the extra money.
