Pros: Large capacity, tilted drum, great ergonomics, energy efficient, quiet, conveniently green, made in USA Cons: Optional pedestal disproportionately expensive
Backstory Last year when our home hit its 20 year mark we began to notice that our appliances were starting to fade. Our GE Dishwasher finally gave up the ghost after we had nursed it along for a year. Our Kenmore Top Loading Washing ...
Pros: Quality reputation, Energy Efficient, Quiet, Gets the clothes really clean. Cons: None
I purchased the Bosch 500 plus Series Nexxt Washer after reviewing Consumer Reports and consulting Epionions.com. I was replacing a 15 year old Kenmore top loading washing machine. Originally, I was considering the LG front load washer, a Kenmore front ...
Pros: Range of cycle options, easy to use dials, buttons. Cons: 2 hour soak, only.
Wow! Time warp! I just traded my top-loader for a front-loader and what a huge difference. My best advice is to take the time to fully review the manual because of all the bells and whistles. I am using most of the features, and love that this ...
Pros: quiet, clothes are clean Cons: clothes get tangled
I bought these machines in February (washer and dryer) and decided to wait a little while before I wrote a review. I didn't want to post a review while I was still in the honeymoon phase. So far, I like the washing machine a lot. There weren't many ...
Pros: looks pretty Cons: to loud, has mildew odor, deteriorating seal after a short time
I did not like this washer and ended up having to return it. I purchased the washer/dryer set and had problems w/both pieces (see dryer review for more info). Any one problem alone might not have caused me to return it, but it was the cumulative ...
Pros: Quiet compared to the top loaders. Doesn't take much soap. Easy to use Cons: Clothes get caught in grooves, loud spin cycle, spin cycle malfunctions occasionally. Expensive.
Bought the Nexxt 500 Plus series back in November. The first thing I noticed was that the spin cycle was loud. Sounded like a freight train and would shake the floors in other rooms. As a matter of fact, the washer would shake so much the whole washer ...
Pros: Delayed start! Quiet operation. Very large capacity, great cleaning. Can wash a queen size quilt. Cons: mildew smell, it can be fixed by leaving the soap lid up when not used.
I bought the washer and dryer about 3 years ago. I have had no problems with either one. I love the delay start feature. It makes doing laundry while working full time much easier. I get home just as the washer is finishing, throw the clothes in the ...
Pros: Looks nice Cons: Cycles last much longer than stated.
Clothes come out very wet. Dryer won't dry them.
Can you imagine?? If someone puts less than the soap box itself recommends of detergent in, just one time, they have ruined the washer forever? For four months I have tried using these, but to no avail. I have had cycles last 5 to 6 hours ...
Pros: Low Water Use. Powerful extraction. Good Capacity. Control placement. Easy load and unload. Cons: Heavy. Long cycles. Solid foundation is needed.
I have had the machine for about 4 weeks. Unit is installed on Tile Floor over crawlspace. I adjusted the level a couple of days after installation and enthusiastic shaking during spin cycle is now gone. Unit must sit squarely on all 4 feet. Mine never moved an inch. Love the low water use and quiet operation. Sears delivery excellent. Why is the matching dryer louder than the washer? More cycles and options than I can understand. One sock in groove but no adverse affect. I do not have the pedastals. The angled drum and notched front with top mounted controls seems to help loading and unloading. Clothes seem extra clean compared to my 20 year old top loader.
Pros: Decent features, quiet during wash cycle, gets clothes clean Cons: Noisy during spin cycle if placed on stands
I really like my Bosch washer/dryer combo. This was the first front loader I've purchased, and I'm impressed. Clothes come out clean everytime. I love the extra sanitary feature that will heat water hotter than the hot water coming out of your tank. Definitely helps to kill the germs that get on my clothes after a day at the hospital.
Pros: Great features Cons: It walks across the laundry room floor when it's spinning even after 'repairman' 'fixed' it.
This is the noisiest washer I have ever seen!!!! The washer makes my whole house vibrate. I had a factory authorized repair shop come and they told me I had to get a concrete pad and put it under the machine!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought this based on high ratings--phooey!
I just called the store back and told them to come and get it and give me my money back!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros: I love it! Easy to use, does a great job, works with with delicates, etc. Cons: No "rinse only" cycle. 1-2 times seemed to not get all items uniformly wet.
I read the pros and cons and asked my dealer about the vibration complaints. These are shipped by container ship from Germany. There are large bolts to keep them stable and not move during transit. they MUST be removed during installation or you'll have an out of control washing machine thrashing about. I opted to buy this washer anyway. My installer showed me the bolts he took out-each about 5" long. I've had no troubles with any kind of excessive movement; sure, there's some but not enough to toss off any of the bottles I keep on top the washer.
Quiet washing cycle but problematic spin cycle by sliii ,Dec 20 '08
Pros: Energy efficient, low water usage, quiet wash cycle Cons: inconsistent spin balance performance-loud with excessive vibration No spin cycle only setting.
Have owned for about 6 weeks and have mixed results with this machine. It is located on 2nd floor and placed on the short 8" pedestals. Washing cycle is quiet and does a good job of cleaning though it takes much longer than with prior top loading type. Problem is with balancing on the spin cycle. It seems with about 2 out of 3 loads the machine cannot balance properly and gets very loud and shakes and wobbles. Sounds like a helicopter over your house. Occasionally any washing machine can get out of balance, but this is a constant problem that seems to be inherent with this front loader technology. They are very heavy machines. I purchased rubber cushions and placed under feet with a little improvement, but still not satisfactory. The sales people and manufacturer should inform customers up front about locating these front loaders on the 2nd floor. I am about to ask for technician to check machine, but I think this will be a waste of time. Don't think can live with this noise and vibration not to mention wear and tear on house frame over time.
Bosch Nexxt 500 Plus WFMC5301UC Front Load Washer. by pipesbac ,Oct 06 '08
Pros: clean, quiet. little water usage, veriable spin cycle from 1200 to 800 rpm Cons: not yet,
We purchased last week and delivered on Saturday 20 2008. First day my wife she 3 large loads. What I noticed: - very quiet during washing cycle, and spin cycle. - use very little water - we have own water system and septic - easy to operate, easy manual explanation, easy function - veriable pin cycle - very clean clothing after washing - next few weeks I will post more information about the operation and durability. So far my wife she like it. We owned before Maytag Neptun, but broke several times and we decide to purchase new washer. I check several reviews on aol, google, talk to coworkers etc. We also looked the Miele - including 5 years warranty. _$2000.00 price. But we found the Bosch top of the line including 5 years warranty, free delvery for $ 1040.00 including sale tax. We purchased. So far so good. I will post more comments after few weeks. We purchase this ABC warehouse at Farmington Hills Mi. The sale person was very good - Mr. Walewski . I will reccomend talk to him. He will give you good deal. Mark
Pros: Looks nice Cons: Walks during spin cycle, clothes are twisted
This washer was professionally installed, levelled and sigts on a cement pad. The washer "walks" across the room when it spins, often leaves clothes dripping wet and twists them tightly together. This machine should be banned. DO NOT BUY ONE!
