Pros: small pedestal puts it at a good height Cons: does not dry well and annoying reminder!
This dryer has a reminder that beeps 15 times every 20 seconds for 5 minutes! Needless to say that is not a reminder, it is an annoyance!! You can turn off the reminder but then you have not clue when the clothes are dry. There is also a feature that ...
Pros: Short drying times, Made in the USA, GENTLE on clothing Cons: None
I can't say better things about this dryer than I already have about its companion washer. Ease of use, short drying times, and Made in the USA says it all. You can choose cottons, permanent press, delicate, or timed settings. Cottons have choices ...
Pros: Built-in sensors to detect dryness and prevent overheating Cons: The drum only spins one direction...wish it went both ways to prevent minor tangling
I bought my Bosch last week and after doing 14 loads, I conclude the machine is smarter than me. Although I selected what I thought to be the appropriate programs, the dryer stopped when the clothes were dry. I like this special feature as it reduces ...
Pros: Lowe's was great to deal with Cons: Does not work.
I was in charge of buying the washer and dryer for our new home. We went with the Bosch Nexxt series. The Platinum only had superficial differences so we bought the next one down to save a bit of money. Our townhouse only had electricity hook ups ...
Pros: Very Quiet, Variety of Options, Works Great Cons: Manual is not great and has some confusing illustrations
I purchased this dryer to replace a basic GE dryer. The old dryer sounded like an old car on cold morning, with all of the noises it used to make. I have had this dryer for two months now and it has worked flawlessly. This unit is installed on a first ...
Pros: no pros Cons: worked only 4 months; difficult to find a service provider; wrinkled clothes; Overpriced
Save yourself frustration, time, and above all money and do NOT buy any Bosch product! I bought what I thought was the best of the best in Sept. 06 when I purchased my Bosch washer and dryer units. It turned out to be the worst decision I ever made and ...
Don't buy Bosch products if you want them to work. Previously I had a regular Sears washer and dryer. Never had a problem. But when we moved I wanted the fancy low water washer and efficient (HA) dryer. What a mistake!
Our dryer has not worked for over 3 weeks - partially due to the terrible technician that came to repair it (from Lowes Service advantage) - and partially because the parts are so expensive and hard to get (apparently).
But the bigger issue is why would a relatively new dryer be broken? The control panel AND the motor went out. How is this possible. Next time I'm going with a regular dryer .
Not to mention that it doesn't even dry clothes that well - many times have to run more than one cycle -and they're always wrinkled.
Won't purchase another Bosch by sunsun ,Jul 27 '08
Pros: Fast drying time. Cons: No low heat setting, cannot turn off wrinkle shield.
My biggest complaint with the dryer is that if you plan on sticking in a load of laundry and then going to bed or leaving for a little while..DON'T. It will eat up your electricity because there is no way to turn off the wrinkle shield. How is this "energy efficient"? I don't get it.
Secondly, there is no setting to dry your clothes on low heat. If you have delicates then this may cause a big problem. Clothes also always come out wrinkled, no matter what setting.
I'm unhappy with my purchase and wish I would have spent my money else where. I'm stuck with these machines for YEARS to come.
Pros: none Cons: Lint filter badly designed, will not work is a speck of lint
We bought the Bosch Nexxt Washer and Dryer. The Dryer is temperamental working only when it wants to. Each time I use it I have to blow out the very badly designed lint filter and then wait for it to reset itself. Do not need anything quickly here because that is not an option. Also the lint screen must be washed, rinsed and dried about every other day. I would never buy Bosch again. We've had this POS over a year and I regret ever buying it.
Pros: Expensive Cons: I will NEVER buy Bosch, considering the price.
Worst dryer ever and also the most expensive. I wish we had stuck to a cheaper brand that actually dries. This one need TLC ALL the time and stopped drying after less than a year even though we are forever cleaning out the lint, filter, etc. It's supposed to save electricity -- what a scam. It does not because you have to dry eveything twice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The lovely gray body gets so easily scratched if you as much as place a plastic laundry basket on it. To top if all their customer service -- esp. scheduling - is the rudest bunch of people I ahve talked to!!!
Lint Filter Light flashing even though the filter is clean by satriana717 ,Nov 21 '07
Pros: I trust Bosch brand Cons: lint filter light goes on even though the filter is clean
The lint filter light flashes after 20 minutes but the filter is clean. And the machine will stop drying. I checked the vent line and is 100% clear. The dryer is 3 weeks old.
Pros: Whatever the load, this unit has the option/features for it. Cons: Wish the Wrinkle Guard cycle was switchable (On/Off), for when you are away from home.
After extensive product comparisons and reading many reviews, we bought this unit. Upon purchase, the sales associate mentioned that you are NOT to use dryer sheets in the dryer...we were told that the dryer sheets would coat the circuit board, and thus cause problems, even to the point of failure. We found it easy enough to switch to liquid fabric softeners in the washing machine.
NOTE: This is also mentioned in the user's manual.
Pros: none Cons: unreliable unit and even worse customer service; overpriced; collects excessive lint
Broke down after 4 months; extremely difficult to find service provider Bosch will "allow' to work on dryer; uncaring customer service; warranty says SAME part must break down THREE times before they consider it a lemon, which for what you pay is ridiculous when it breaks down after only 4 months and takes 3 months (and still waiting)to get serviced; when working, clothes often wrinkled after cycle; my old Sears machine was much better, wish I had it back. After MANY hours on phone with customer service, I can definitely say they are the most uncaring company I have ever worked with. Very unsatisfied with the "high dollar" unit and would NOT buy another Bosch appliance. Save yourself frustration and time.....buy another brand.
My third dryer in a week will be delivered tomorrow by quilterlady ,Apr 21 '07
Pros: Don't know yet Cons: Can't use it
My first dryer was delivered last Saturday. They installed it and left. They advised us to run it before putting clothes in it. When we turned it on it ran for 3 minutes and THEN the noise was so loud it sounded like we had thrown a handful of bolts in it. They took it back and brought another one. They left. We plugged it in ...3 minutes later this one sounded like a CEMENT mixer...it was deafening. I am NOT exaggerating. It was AWFUL. The store couldn't believe the noise. Tomorrow is number 3. Three strikes and you are out. How could this very expensive dryer be so terrible? It is not usable. If it was just a fluke how could I end up with two of them?
Wish I Never Bought Bosch Dryer by smh1 ,Apr 13 '07
Pros: Matches the washing machine. Cons: Over Rated. Does not dry well when using permanent press.
This dryer is without a doubt the worst dryer I have ever purchased and yet it is the most expensive dryer I ever purchased.
The Permanent Press uses an automatic sensor, it never allows my clothes to dry before shutting off. So to use permanent press, I have to baby sit my dryer, sometimes having to run it three times to get one load dry. If I use the Timed Dry option instead of Permanent Press, my clothes come out tangled and wrinkled. So that's the choice damp clothes or wrinkled ones!
This dryer is certainly not worth the price. I suggest you save your money.
