Pros: energy efficiency, quiet operation, excellent performance Cons: rinse aid is a must, no child lock
We moved into our newly purchased and hopefully the last house the end of June. There was an old, high end for it's day dishwasher that had not worked for years and had a rusted out bottom. We found out the day we signed the papers which really didn't ...
A week before last Thanksgiving our 15 year old GE dishwasher broke down, and we had to have a dishwasher fast. I loved the old one but it was noisy. So, the saleslady said that the Bosch was quiet and efficient. Well, it IS quiet. But doesn't wash well. ...
Pros: virtually silent
energy efficient
outstanding cleaning
dries via condensation Cons: need to know specific stuff about Bosch before using (see above review)
I finally bought a new dishwasher after waiting for my el cheapo Hotpoint to die (which it wouldn't--that was its only redeeming feature). It sounded like an airplane taking off, and I have an open design downstairs, so I couldn't turn on the stereo, ...
Pros: VERY Quiet and has Stainless Steel interior walls. Also cleans dishes well. Cons: Door latch failed after 6 months but was covered under warranty.
We bought our Bosch almost a year ago and have used it at least once a day almost every day since we got it. When my wife first started talking about buying it, I was resistant because it cost significantly more than the one I wanted. But she convinced ...
Pros: The machine is very quiet and washes the dishes well, drying technology is great. Cons: This machine required a bit of experience to install.
I went to buy a Whirlpool dishwasher based on reviews and in the store I was pleased to find a reasonably priced Bosh. My wife wanted a silverware basket that is not on the door, so much for my research, a Bosh it was! I have only used the machine once ...
Pros: Washes well. Very quiet. Rinses well. Dries well. Cons: I hate buckets for silverware, but I'll live with it for this machine.
As an appliance salesman for over two years now, I've sold a fair deal of dishwashers. The brands I seemed to have the most good luck with not only in sales, but with the fewest complaints, were Kitchen-aid and Bosch. The more Bosch units that I've sold, ...
Pros: Quiet. Easy installation. Cons: Doesn't clean dishes well and the rack layout is horrible.
Germans are generally known for their engineering capabilities. This dishwasher is a major disappointment in this arena. No doubt it a very quiet machine and installation was very straightforward. I really liked the way you can level the rear legs via a ...
Pros: Cleaning ability, quiet operation, energy efficiency, build quality, stylishness Cons: Hard to install, small feature set, pricey
We've had the Bosch SHE44C02UC in our kitchen for about a month, and couldn't be more pleased. Our requirements were fairly simple: we needed a dishwasher that got the dishes clean and wouldn't drown out the television in an adjoining room. The Bosch ...
Pros: Uses little water, wonderfully quiet. Stainless steel tub. Removable & adjustable top rack. Cons: Requires water softener? Dirty dishes, cloudy rinse with food particles. Bowls don't stay upright.
This machine is a huge disappointment! It didn't wash dishes clean and glassware comes out milky regardless of how much or how little detergent is used and it made no difference where the rinse agent is set. The bottom spray arm didn't spin freely ...
Pros: quiet, easy installation, cleans well, dries plastic fine Cons: racks don't hold quite as much, long cycle time, need to buy drying agent
this dishwasher was to replace a broken Asko (~14 yrs old), so I didn't want to spend too long trying to get the best deal. I read the Consumer Reports (which highly recommends the dishwasher that this model replaces) and decided to go with this ...
Pros: WOW IS THIS THING QUIET!!! Washes quickly, uses very little water/detergent. Cons: Silverware rack very intrusive, can't load as many dishes.
I've read the other review -- it's complaints were that dishes do not dry well and loading is difficult. This dishwasher does not have a drying element. That's pretty cool considering no more melted plastic -- you can load plastic anywhere without ...
I'd rather just handwash!!! by icryunkle ,Jan 11 '08
Pros: Well, at least it looks nice. Cons: Dishes are left with a filminess that takes many consecutive hand washes to remove.
I discovered this website in desperation tonight after yet another "solution" failing me. I have a brand new $800 Bosch dishwasher that leaves cloudiness and even sticky spots and crustiness on the glasses. My plates and bowls feel flaky and sometimes have spots on them. I have to rinse so much before loading, I might as well be hand washing. Like the others on here, I've tried the water softeners, (despite my old dishwasher not needing them), different detergents, varying amounts of jet-dry and detergent, my husband even had it re-installed to double check the water hose were working right. We've cleaned out every possible thing there is to clean. No question about it, this dishwasher is useless. I am having to hand wash my dishes after running them through, to spare embarrassment when company is over! Don't buy this dishwasher, EVER!
Pros: Very (very) quiet, seems to clean well. Good aside from the one major issue mentioned. Cons: Bowls do not stay "standing up" like good soldiers in the top rack!!
Our Bosch SHE44C model does not handle bowls well; they can topple over due to design flaw. This does not mean it can't wash bowls or can't clean them, just that they don't stay in the ideal upright position without a lot fiddling around. I'm very surprised that others here have not mentioned this problem! We purchased it maybe 18 months ago. I'm curious if current models of Bosch still "feature" the same top rack!
Conclusion: if you're planning to purchase a dishwasher, make sure to bring some DISHES to the store, especially your typical bowls and glasses and have the salesman show you how they would be loaded.
Pros: quiet Cons: dirty dishes, dishes with film, wet dishes, no cycle indicator when door is closed.
Worst Dishwasher ever! I purchased this DW at the recommendation of the appliance salesman. He stated that they never have call backs, and that Consumer Reports rated this "tops" for the last seven years. The dishes are never clean, even when rinsed completely before loading. They actually are grimy when they come out of the DW. There is a film on the glasses, and the inside of mugs still have coffee or juice sticking to them after being "washed". When I add water to the glasses after being washed in this Dishwasher, bubbles form from non-rinsed detergent. The Dishwasher smells, even after we tried the corrections offered by the appliance repair man. I also had a plumber replace all the lines to the DW, and even had the lines re-routed, checking for kinks. This Bosch came highly recommended, but it does not even compare to my old GE! I am getting rid of this $800+ DW after less than a year! Then, I am replacing my glasses and glass plates because they have a film stuck on them.
I am now on my second set of silverware. Rust spots and pitting occur every time I use it. I have complained several times to the dealer. Who has told me that "this" shouldn't happen. I have a water softener system installed, my hot water is at 140 degrees - still happens. I've had the repair folk out twice - no remedy, no reason - shouldn't happen...
