Can't Believe All the Negativity!

by dior55 , Sep 30 '07
Pros: VERY quiet (45 db), stylish, plenty of loading room, S/S in and out
Cons: None that I can see.
I have only had this dishwasher for 1.5 days, and I can't believe how well it works. I must say that if I had read these reviews, I would have probably passed on a great deal I got, and boy I would have been upset! My old GE was a "contractor grade" ...

My Fourth and Final BOSCH

by dmmdowns , Jun 05 '07
Pros: QUIET! Stainless steel tub.
Cons: Small, flimsy racks, dishes do not dry, loading is a puzzle.
*****Update****** I have since returned this dishwasher and have installed the GE Profile model #PDW9280N00S. I'm now back in business! What a relief to get rid of the BOSCH. I am now greeted by completely dry plastic ware and flatware at the end of ...

Supposedly "top-rated"

by conswatchdog , Jul 10 '06
Pros: Quiet, Cleans well, Well-built
Cons: Long wash cycle, Poor drying, On-demand (tankless) water heater compatibility
I recently purchased the SHE66C05UC dishwasher to replace an old Maytag that was past its life. I used Consumer Reports guidance and this has been a top-rated dishwasher for them 6 years in a row even though it does not show up as one of their ...

Not Worth the $$$$$!!!

by lnilg , Nov 29 '07
Pros: Nice Looking; but that's it!
Cons: Doesn't dry the dishes; doesn't clean the dishes; is NOT as quiet as everyone says.
This dishwasher DOES NOT CLEAN even minimally dirty dishes. My old 13 year old KitchenAid was just as quiet and cleaned everything perfectly. Also, it DOES NOT DRY the dishes. I have to open the door for the dishes to dry properly before I can put ...

The only MISTAKE in my kitchen
by judyrad ,Dec 06 '06
Pros: quiet
Cons: poorly designed upper rack & cutlery basket, bad drying, long cycle
I'd sacrifice "quiet" in order not to have to dry my dishes while unloading. The long cycle, poorly designed upper rack and cutlery basket that allowed the tines of my forks to poke through and scratch the inner surface make this an INFERIOR product. Highly unsatisfactory

Two years of bad performance
by rebgaby ,Jul 02 '08
Pros: Quiet
Cons: Grit on dishes, does not finish cycle, does not drain, can't get parts.
We bought this after lots of research and paid 1,066 for it. It never worked. For two years we have been rinsing our dishes of the GRIT which covers them after we take them out - if they are dry, that is. Lots of times they are still wet hours after the cycle completes.

It doesn't drain properly and may not be completing the cycle. I have the GE 5-year warranty and have had people out here many times and most recently was told the hose was installed improperly. Fixing the angle of the hose did not help. Now the warranty people cannot find parts(a new pump) for the machine. I can't find parts either. What a hassle. We want GE (the warranty company) to replace it.

I have spent many hours on the phone with the warranty company, and many hours waiting for people to come to our house to look at it. This is a travesty - Bosch dishwashers are supposed to be great!

NEVER AGAIN
by consumer112 ,Jun 12 '07
Pros: The machine has a nice exterior appearance and is quiet.
Cons: The "tines" which hold the dishes in the bottom rack continually collapse.
I purchased this dishwasher during our kitchen remodel. I had used Bosch before...this has been a completely different experience. The bottom rack has "adjustable" tines that when loaded with more then 3 or 4 dishes collapse. I've had the service people in to replace them...which they did, but a month later they are doing the same thing. Also the utensil baskets tip over (again a function of the tines collapsing.
A poor design overall.
Additionally the dishes are alwasy dripping wet when the cycle is complete.

I HATE my dishwasher
by engineer999 ,Jul 12 '06
Pros: cleaning exterior design
Cons: reliability interior design floppy tines and chipped dishes
Despite the sleek exterior design and top ratings on other Bosch models, this dishwasher is a lemon. After three months, the so-called "perfect close" door mechanism no longer works and the door will simply crash to the floor if you let it go. Obviously in need of repair, I've not yet had the time or the patience to wait on hold for the service department at Bray and Scarff where the dishwasher was purchased.

Assuming the door is fixable, I'm still going to hate this dishwasher because the adjustable tines simply collapse when fully loaded with medium weight plates. When this occurs, the plates all fall together, sometimes chipping, and must be removed (yuck!) to raise the tines to an upright position. I've tried a number of configurations that might give the tines more support, including using rubber bands (on my new $1200 dishwasher) to try and stabilize them. It does a fine job of cleaning, but the actual capacity for dirty dishes is quite small, meaning we must run the appliance twice as often. Unless you look at your dishwasher more than you use it, don't waste your money on this one.

Hopefully I can save you the pain
by crborkowski ,May 27 '09
Pros: quiet
Cons: breaks down fast and often - doesn't dry dishes well at all
We bought this dishwasher three years ago for $1200.  It just broke for the second time (online research says it's a common break for this machine and will be costly to fix).  In addition to the breakdowns, this machine does NOT dry the dishes well at all (another common complaint according to the last repairman).  For $1200, I should have had a machine that outlasted me, but appears that it will die far far far sooner than the much-cheaper GE machine that it replaced.  I will not buy Bosch ever again.
