Pros: Um, it's cheap? Cons: It's cheap.
I was in a hurry. The three kids were running out of steam and impatiently beginning their usual, "Mom, can we go home?" questions. The Office Max staff were no where to be found. After twenty years with a heavy duty pencil sharpener that finally ...

Pros: Sharpens pencils with ease. Cons: Noise, Noise, Noise
It costs a lot of money to teach today. Actually, in my district, it always did cost a lot. While some school districts actually pay for paper, pencils, and teacher/student needed utensils (like pencil sharpeners and colored pencils) our district has ...

Pros: Small, cheap ($13 seen), 12V operation Cons: Rough wood on cheaper pencils, 17degree point shorter than standard, too light.
I just bought a 19500 "Mity Mite" and am disappointed in how it handles wood pencils that aren't to ...

Inconvenience....in a pencil sharpener
by productjustin ,Jun 13 '04
Pros: I guess the color is kind of cool Cons: Won't stay still, messy cleanup, noisy.
This pencil sharpener is disappointing to me. It won't stay still when you put a pencil in; it always slides off. You must keep it steady which means 2 hands are required, unfortunately. And as said before, it doesn't do a good sharpening job on wood pencils. As an added negative trait, this Mighty Mite sharpener doesn't collect shavings properly, dust collects outside of the container making for a dirty cleanup. The loud noise generated by the sharpener is constantly irritating.
The sharpener is not run by batteries, rather it is connected to an outlet. It is an odd shape which really doesn't fit on a desk properly when you think about it. Overall, I would suggest that bad quality can even come in the form of such a small object as a pencil sharpener. So we must execute the quality of the tallest building, to the smallest sharpener, pen, etc. Anyway, in conclusion, I would shop around for a better pencil sharpener, which I should probably do soon myself.

Nice for the price.
by pencilfreak ,Nov 19 '05
Pros: Is just as powerful as larger pencil sharpeners, exactly as intended. Cons: Will clog, if holiday pencils are sharpened.
This pencil sharpener is nice for the price.
There are much heavier duty machines on the market these days, but this one is pretty nice for the price.
However, if you are looking for a good pencil sharpener to sharpen your holiday pencils, this would be not a good choice, and most likely the worst choice in Medium duty electric pencil sharpeners, because it clogs badly if you sharpen your holiday pencils. This, of course, is the reason why I give it a 4 star rating. But if you are looking for a very small electric pencil sharpener, which can sharpen a bunch of the regular HB pencils, this is perfect, because it can sharpen a bunch of the regular HB pencils in a heartbeat, just as intended. This is a great pencil sharpener for you folks who are looking for an extremely little electric pencil sharpener that's as powerful as, let's say, the Model 1900 electric pencil sharpener, which is also a medium duty electric pencil sharpener.
