Hi Jo: I am still struggling with all the Bowflex models. I want to buy one for my dad. Can you tell me what the difference are between the Xtreme 2 and the Xtreme XTLU? I know you reviewed the XTLU but I cant find a review from you of the xtreme 2. ...
Pros: This machine takes up little space and gives a good burn for the muscles. Cons: The range of motion for some of the exercises are limited.
When I first looked into getting a home gym, I sent for information from a variety of fitness companies. I looked at free weights, other cable systems and weight machines before deciding to get the Xtreme 2 model. I should also mention I spoke to ...
Pros: High quality, silent operation, quick resistance changeovers, great results Cons: Cable hook up mechanism to leg extension attachment difficult to unhook, cables occasionally twist
When I strained my back doing some little job around the house for what seemed like the thousandth time, I decided something had to be done to increase my body strength. I had already seen the DVD from Bowflex and decided on the Xtreme 2 because of the ...
Pros: Easy to put together; Looks great in the house; I feel results already! Cons: The leg attachment is not the best I've ever seen
My wife and I decided to buy this particular Bowflex after not wanting to go to our gym in town. The gym always had scuzzy looking people who talked about drugs in it, so we considered home equipment. I sent off for the free dvd that explains the ...
Pros: Smooth, get a good burn. Cons: Leg extension is not easily adjusted.
I am 40 now and for the last 3 or 4 years I just have not had the energy to go to a gym either before work or after work. I finally dived in and ponied up for the Bowflex Extreme 2. I bought one at the local store in Burnaby, British Columbia for ...
Pros: Ease of use. Quality of construction and workout. Diet plan is great. Cons: Expensive to most home users. Should come with 310lbs. standard. (Demand free upgrade with order)
I purchased my Bowflex because of the quality of construction and the positive word of mouth I received from a relative and internet reviews like this one. I chose the Xtreme 2 model because you do not have to adjust cables/pulleys for certain exercises ...
Pros: great workout, nice sturdy equipment Cons: none
This is the second piece of Bowflex equipment that I have purchased. Why did I get rid of the first? Simply because I felt that the Xtreme2 seemed like a better piece of equipment and I had certainly gotten my monies worth out of the first one. In ...
Pros: Well built. Easy to use. Cons: Expensive. Leg attachment only good for leg extensions. Hard to do squats with straight bar.
I am 45 years old and bought the Bowflex Xtreme 2 six weeks ago, after my gym membership had expired (and hadn't been going to the gym for a few months. I bought the machine at a local fitness equipment dealer for $1,300. I spent about 3-4 hours ...
Pros: There are no pros Cons: A very expensive scam
I had a bowflex for two years, which had a Lat Bar and Leg extension, and although it increased my strength, there is a limit to how much it can increase. The bowflex, and other machines like it, boast that you cannot wear out the rods, in this case, the ...
Pros: Sturdy, great machine, a little pricey but works very well. Cons: Over 7' tall, goofy configuration of screws, better if 410 lbs were included
I have been using my Bowflex for just over three months now and would like to address one issue I keep hearing and seeing. The machine is great for a home gym setup...it will make you sore if you use it correctly. As for the limited motion...I am 6' 3" ...
Pros: Easy to assemble and use. Fast delivery. Cons: Heavy. Not easy to move.
I read the other reviews on here before I placed my order for the Xtreme 2. Some people mentioned waiting 2 to 10 weeks for delivery. Well, I ordered mine on Sunday and it arrived that Tuesday at 2pm. (I live just outside Portland, OR where the ...

The best $1500 ive ever spent by boflexman ,Mar 19 '05
Pros: Quality of construction, variety of exercises, the great feel the resistance brings, easy to assemble. Cons: Kinda pricey.
I recieved the xtreme 2 just under 2 weeks after i ordered it. I spent a little over 3 hours assembling it, but i did it by myself and took a lot of breaks. Its pretty simple to put together once you know what you are doing. I bought this one becasue a lack of extra room in my girlfriends house, and it just barely fits in her room. I have not started a complete workout yet, (I will review that later), but i have tried just about every exercise the wonderfully detailed manual presents, and i already love it. For example, i have always tried different chest excerises with free weights and commercial machines, and they never felt right. The first time i tried a chest fly on the bowflex, it felt perfect. I cant wait to go home everyday and use this machine. I recommend it to anyone.
The Bowflex Xtreme 2 is one of the best pieces of equipment you could buy! by atiefenbrunn ,Apr 02 '05
Pros: easy to use, easy to assemble, excellent for toning Cons: not a good machine to buy if you only want to bulk up
I have wanted to buy a bowflex for many years, when the Xtreme 2 came out I knew it was time to buy one. I have a small gym in my house and all I can say is that I get my best workouts when I use the Bowflex its as simple as that.
If your a person like me who already has some bulk to their muscles and just want to tone up, tighten up, and get ripped than this machine will do that for you if you use it on a regular basis.
The Extreme2- Solid Home Gym Equipment by kylesdad429 ,Jan 17 '05
Pros: Easy to assemble. Solid and smooth fluid movement with every exercise. A good home gym. Cons: It's a different workout than with freeweights. It does not replace the gym.
When I ordered the Extreme2, I was told that it would be 4 weeks to delivery. I received my Bowflex 10 weeks after my initial order. The good people at Bowflex upgraded my order for the inconvenience. It took me about 2 hours to assemble it by myself. The manual says that 2 people are recommended but I had no problem doing it alone. The instructions were very clear and easy to understand. I really like the fact that I can workout at home on my days off. But I get a much better workout at the gym. Doing a bench press with dumbbells is much harder than doing it on the Bowflex. For most people, the Extreme2 is all you would ever need. But for someone that is serious about bodybuilding, the gym is a better choice.
We took the Xtreme and improved it. The Lat Tower adjusts to two positions, plus the longer squat frame gives you 4 adjustable positions; the result, ...More at globalfitness™
