Great for your Prefrontal Cortex!

by fairywings03 , Mar 27 '08
Pros: Works Prefrontal Cortex(improves memory and problem-solving), lots of fun games, over 100 Sudoku puzzles.
Cons: Plain graphics, children might not enjoy it.
Although many Nintendo DS games are aimed toward children, Brain Age 2 is more for teens and adults. In fact, young children might get pretty angry at this game. Brain Age 2 contains all-new puzzles (different from the ones in Brain Age) and you don't ...

My Brain Age is 36!

by majcmortenson , Jul 11 '08
Pros: Fun, intuitive, beneficial, a far cry from mindless video games
Cons: Voice and stylus sensitivity can fail and result in wrong answer
Did you know we only use about 5% of our brains on a daily basis? – the less we use our brain, the lazier our brains become! The more we use them, the more blood flows to the prefrontal cortex, and the smarter we get. TV decreases our brain’s activity, ...

by gregepin04 , Jan 19 '08
Pros: educational and really sharpens the mind.
Cons: Might frustrate very young players.
Our daughter is a Nintendo DS player so we saw a lot of the games and played a few with moderate interest. THEN, she gave me the interactive DS Brain Age 2 for Christmas. This game is fantastic. No little characters and adventures ...just pure thinking ...

This game wants you to write PERFECT
by aspirate72 ,Nov 23 '07
Pros: Brain stimulating, I guess.
Cons: Letter recognition is poor, and tries to recognize certain letters faster than others.
I've had the best handwriting throughout school and graduated at the top of my class, but I'm not smart for my age. At least, that's what this game has been telling me so far.
What a pain in the a*s!
In most writing sessions, you have to write how the game wants you to (certain sequence of strokes & near perfect) in order for the game to recognize your lettering. If you can't, it can be frustrating to move on because most sessions are timed.
