My Last Coffee Pot Purchase

by rawooten , Jan 08 '03
Pros: This gorgeous machine makes great coffee in a very few minutes.
Cons: This machine insists on having the paper filter in correctly.
This machine was a steal for $35.00 at Lowe's. The stainless steel thermal carafe is beautiful. The black housing is sleek. The Black & Decker Thermal Select Coffee Maker is so user friendly. When you pour in your eight cups of water, there is a little...

Coffee House Quality in Your Own Kitchen

by bcjtv13 , Dec 26 '03
Pros: Outstanding coffee, beautiful design, enjoyable and inexpensive to use
Cons: Produces relatively small amount of coffee, doesn't keep coffee warm
Coffee Anyone? I can't really call us coffee purists. We don't drink expresso. We don't have expensive coffee gadgets. We don't even frequent Starbucks. But, my hubby and I do appreciate a good cuppa Joe. Dunkin' Donuts Regular, although ...

Nice little coffee maker

by sprottn , May 31 '04
Pros: Keeps coffee hot for a long time.
Cons: Leaked if carafe lid was too tight
I purchased this coffee maker a year ago for about $30 and I love not dealing with a burner that can scorch the bottom of the pot. It automatically shuts off when it finishes brewing so when you leave your house in the morning, you do not have to ...

Your Best Cup of Coffee Awaits

by AbeFroman , Jun 21 '00
Pros: Cool look, best coffee you can make
Cons: None
No coffee lover should be without a french press. For rich taste and body, nothing beats a “pressed” cup of coffee.

The beauty of a french press is its simplicity. Good ground coffee, near-boiling water, a stir with a wooden spoon and five...

Bye, Bye Mr. Coffee, Hello Black and Decker

by ptrish , Dec 27 '02
Pros: Looks good..makes great coffee
Cons: Too tall to fit under cabinet and still open the water chamber.
After giving up on my Mr. Coffee I researched the reviews on other thermal carafe coffeemakers. The Black and Decker looked like it would do the job. I have not been disappointed! The coffee brews wonderfully (no dripping) and it tastes great! The...

Excellent product, but lid leaky.

by drknightarcher , Dec 25 '02
Pros: Slim, sleek, beautiful design, no hot plate.
Cons: Lid sometimes gets water trapped inside when cleaning.
This item not only looks good, it works good, keeps coffee hot, and there is no hot plate to deal with or get corroded. Thermos is solidly built, and cleanup is easy without a hot plate. Operation of the timer is two button simple, sets easy.

A Step BACKWARD for Braun!

by smeltfisher , Jun 16 '04
Pros: Looks nice, comfortable handle. So WHAT.
Cons: Weak, tasteless coffee. Pause and serve often doesn't pause.
I recently bought the AromaDeluxe KF 510B, which is the black version of this same coffee-maker. I should preface this review by saying that I have owned several Brauns over the years, and consider it the Cadillac of coffeemakers. For years I've been ...

Giving it away today

by kbucher , Sep 03 '03
Pros: Temperature of coffee was better than Mr. Coffee thermal coffeemaker. Easy to program.
Cons: Drippy, leaking lid and narrow mouthed carafe hard to clean
I was very pleased with the price and general design of this coffeemaker (auto-off, thermal carafe, ...

PRACTICAL Coffee maker

by musclewayne , Feb 24 '02
Pros: Convenient, Easy to Use, Reliable
Cons: DOESN'T MIX CREAM AND SUGAR
This coffee maker is good for a single person or a couple.

I like this coffee maker for the following reasons:
- Not expensive to buy
- one button push
- uses coffee ground (instead of instant coffee
mix - yuchh!)...

great concept, not a great product

by becca_b , Nov 26 '04
Pros: Coffee does not cook or scorch as it is in a warming carafe.
Cons: Coffee stays in the lid of the carafe, unreliable product.
We have a Black & Decker coffee maker similar to this at my work, and it's been a good pot. The only difference in my work and my home unit is mine at home has an automatic timer. When I broke my other coffee maker (from Gevalia similar to this and ...

Skip this one....

by forda24 , Dec 08 '02
Pros: Stylish
Cons: Does not keep the coffee hot.
I am not sure if the coffee does not get hot enough in the first place but even though it's in a thermos like carafe, the coffee does not stay warm. My husband gets up about 30 minutes before I do and turns the pot on. By the time I'm ready for a cup,...

Nice try, but no cigar.

by MmeBovary , Feb 23 '02
Pros: Thermal carafe keeps coffee hot and drinkable for hours.
Cons: Constant water overflow that sends grounds into coffee and all over!
We've had two Black and Decker Thermal Select Plus units since Christmas. Both units have had the same problem...water flows into the grounds chamber, but doesn't flow out quickly enough into the carafe. This causes water (and grounds!) to back up in...

Extremely Disappointed
by Dreamboat ,Sep 04 '04
Pros: Save money on electricity.
Cons: Carafe leaks; brew doesn't complete.
Our carafe started leaking just a week or so after we bought it. We've been cleaning up dribbled coffee for nearly a year. Now, it won't brew a complete cycle. We have to turn it on 3 or 4 times before it will finally complete brewing all the water in the tank. I used to swear by Black & Decker products. I went to their website and put a complaint through their web-based form. TWICE. I have heard NOTHING from Black & Decker. We are not rich people and can't afford to throw away money. I so much loved the idea of this coffee pot. We save on electricity because we don't keep the coffee heated. And then this mess. Hmph.

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE
by coreminator ,Mar 16 '05
Pros: It will make coffee.
Cons: By far THE WORST coffeemaker ever owned. I just used mine for the last time.
Altogether bad design concept.
Paper filter must be in perfect condition and carafe aligned perfectly.
Otherwise, disaster.
Coffee leaks everywhere, and/or filter collapses, grounds go into the carafe (or onto the countertop and floor).
The carafe will keep contents relatively warm for about 5 minutes.
Any electricity "saved" by this unit is wasted on reheating with the microwave, which defeats the purpose entirely.
In summation:
* Describe your experience using this product.
Horrible.
* Why did you buy this product?
I believed the lies written on the box it came in.
* What do you love about this product?
Nothing.
* What do you hate?
Everything

Long lasting good coffee!!
by ronlee01 ,Dec 22 '03
Pros: Auto-shut off ; ease of cleanup; pause for a cup; easy read water level indicator
Cons: Only brews 8 cups at a time if you are serving many people
We've always wanted a coffee maker like this. You can program the maker to brew at a certain time and then it shuts itself off when it has finished brewing. Say goodbye to the burnt coffee taste and smell. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for at least a couple of hours. We use one of those long-lasting mesh filters which cleans easily and is dishwasher-safe. So far , this has been a great coffee maker for the money. The looks and ease of cleanup of the keypad is another great feature. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone in the market for a new coffemaker.
