Works Great

by jl20 , Apr 06 '08
Pros: Very simple and bakes a perfect loaf every time!
Cons: Basket comes off track occasionally
We have had this bread machine for two and a half years now and it still works great. The machine gets used at least 2 times a week and every loaf turns out great. The only problem thus far is that the basket pops out of place occasionally and ...

even the warranty replacement unit broke day 1

by hhinorton , Jun 08 '07
Pros: The recipe book.
Cons: Everything else.
Hi. I've worn out several bread machines over 15 years and was very disappointed in this model. The first one I bought had the problem of the pan's popping out of it's clips from the first day. Bending the clips helped, usually, but I could never ...

Doesn't compare to the TR2200C or Sunbeam 5891

by newbug , Aug 04 '08
Pros: Multiple menus, Excellent book, small footprint.
Cons: Made about 30 loaves of bread and it died twice. Good for spare parts now.
Had this unit for a little over a year. Went to use it a few weeks ago and the display was dead, no beeps or anything. Called the company nothing but prompt after prompt, hung up. Took it apart found a bad soldier joint, fixed it units worked. Made a ...

Breadman TR2500

by jj-denver , Jun 02 '07
Pros: Very good kneading process.
Cons: More costly than some, but not bad at all.
Check out my review of the Sunbeam 5891. In that review, I compare it to the Breadman TR2500. The Breadman is the winner because of a much stronger kneading motor and kneading process. I had an Kenmore which was a private labeled Breadman and a ...

Excellent rectangular loaf maker at great price

by vikramaadithya , Aug 31 '06
Pros: Rectangular loaf, versatile programmability, quality construction
Cons: Dim display; press lid to turn light off. Too much clearance between paddle and shaft.
Our older breadmaker, purchased from DAK, functioned well for about ten years before stopping, leading me to order this unit. The Breadman TR2500 BC arrived within two days (Dallas to Houston) with free shipping, and in good condition. I spent the ...

Very poor customer service

by dustygirl , Mar 07 '07
Pros: made a perfect loaf every time, has a fruits and nuts dispenser
Cons: very poor customer service, basket sometimes popped out, it was noisy
We bought our Breadman Ultimate Plus TR2500BC Breadmaker as an open box item on December 2, 2006. On February 18th, 2007 only 11 weeks later with 18 minutes left to bake the machine cleared, started buzzing and would not reset. I had to unplug it to ...

Cheap substitute for the Breadman 2200

by woodturn , Dec 20 '08
Pros: Easy to clean, top comes off.
Cons: poor workmanship, poor customer service, poor record
I purchased a new TR2500 from a US retailer and had it shipped to Canada.  The first time I tried to use the machine the basket popped out of place.  I bent the tabs and tried again only to have it pop out again.  I held the basket in ...

Solution to pan "popping" out
by goeway ,Nov 03 '06
Pros: Works every time and VERY versatile
Cons: None particularly other than I am eating too much bread
My unit developed the "popping" out problem during the kneading cycle. The problem is the small "clips" on the side of the unit need to be bent out a bit to allow the pan to firmly snap in place. My problem didn't develop until after a year. I am surprised it happened with new ones.

I love the unit. Not had a failure yet. Very versatile.

Try bending the side clips and then push the pan in until it snaps and the pan catches between the prongs on the clip.

No Good
by quiethm75 ,Dec 23 '06
Pros: none
Cons: IF the machine works, the baking pan comes loose very easily during the knead cycle.
The first time I used this machine, the bread pan came loose during the first knead cycle. Then the second time I attempted to use it, it didn't work at all. I returned it to Target that day. Not a good machine.

Convection????
by rock2719 ,Mar 04 '09
Pros: Nice looking machine
Cons: It is not a convection breadmaker
I bought the Tr2500bc breadmaker and the convection fan runs about two minutes period and not at all on the bake cycle. They sent me another machine but have the same results. Can't get an answer from the company on when the fan is supposed to run. This does not seem to be a convection machine as they say.

Unfortunately, I got a Dud
by warringeagle ,Apr 01 '06
Pros: Great features, Fully Customizable, Very Versatile, 'Bake-Only' option.
Cons: It burned itself out on the first use! :(
I just got this machine and went to break it in, per the manufacturers instructions. Before baking bread, you have to run the machine on a bake cycle while empty in order to burn off the manufacturing oils. It went through the motions of kneading and baking beautifully. I let it cool down to room temperature and then proceeded to assemble the ingredients for my first bread recipe. When I plugged in the machine and turned it on nothing happened. The display would not even come on! It appears to have burned itself out on the very first use. :( I ended up making my bread the old fashioned way. My friend who has the same machine but different model (TR220C) swears by his and has been using it at least twice a week for year. Maybe I just got the lemon of the bunch?!

Not trustworthy
by rolypolyman ,Sep 21 '06
Pros: Looks good
Cons: Poor design
On the very first recipe the pan came out during the knead cycle. We tried reseating it and checked the directions in the manual but couldn't keep it from popping out every 15 or 20 seconds. Needless to say I haven't been able to test it out long enough to write more. If the pan jumps out in just 2 minutes of use, I don't have any confidence it will last us days, weeks, or months. Judging by the poor customer service mentioned above I'm just going to return this to Wal-Mart where it was bought.

Run...don't walk away from this machine...
by legomom2boys ,Jul 26 '06
Pros: Looks sleek
Cons: Bread pan won't stay in the machine when on the knead cycle
While I didn't have the problem of the lack of display coming on, I had the problem of having my dough stay in the pan! After assembling all the ingredients for the whole wheat bread, it went into the 'preheat' mode, which is common for bread machines. But then when it went to the 'knead' mode, the bread pan literally jumped out of the machine! Thank goodness I was there and didn't just put on the machine and do errands (which was what I did with my previous machine). I bake bread daily for my family of boys. The previous Breadman machine (the white model) was great for about 2 years and I just wore it out. But this machine didn't last more than 2 hours with me! I called the company and got the run around.

Makes good bread, Customer service poor, no spare parts
by wizengy ,Oct 22 '08
Pros: Made many excellent loafs.
Cons: Pan broke and there is NOWHERE to get replacements
We had the breadmaker for about 6 months and turned out many excellent loafs. Sometimes we had to play around with the recipes
to get it just right. We used it a couple of times a week and tried
many different recipesThen the bread pan broke. Called up customer
service. They were nice enough and said they would send out one
under warranty in two weeks. That was 4 months ago. Everytime
you call up it's two weeks. There is NOWHERE else to get parts.
No small store carries parts. Can't get it on Ebay. Nowhere to send
it if it breaks. If it breaks its gone.

Excellent bread machine
by mlh705 ,Mar 06 '07
Pros: Easy to use. Turns out great homemade bread loaves.
Cons: Surface hard to keep clean.
I purchased this product specifically for the gluten free option it has. And it does very well with those very thick, sticky doughs that gluten free diets are known for. However, I have found it to be a very good bread machine in other types of dough as well. It is very user friendly and has many options to personalize the baking as you want it to be. My loaves have all been well-mixed and of a good consistency. I have not had any major malfunctions or anything. The paddle sticks in the loaf about half of the time- but that is easily removed. Overall it is great. It also looks great on the countertop.
