Pros: Catchy hits, lots of emotion, some good hard rockers Cons: A few mediocre tracks
Summary: Springfield, Massachusetts rock quartet Staind gained some well-deserved attention with their 1999 album Dysfunction, but that was nothing compared to their runaway success earned by its followup, 2001's Break the Cycle. This album ... read more

Pros: Dark vocals and melodies distanced Staind from the limelight of Korn and Limp Bizkit. Cons: Meandering lyrics and slow musical progression on songs "Suffer," "Fade," and "Pressure."
Summary: Without question, "Break The Cycle" was the most notable of Staind's early albums. Before that, "Dsyfunction" served to get Staind recognized as an up and coming hard rock group. "Break the Cycle" ... read more

Pros: Staind can pull off some amazing material. Cons: While the band can't fully deliver that in a thorough record.
Summary: Although, I'm not a huge fan of Staind, I do enjoy their music. Sure, it isn't the best out there and it does put you in a very depressing mood after listening to them, but overall it's good stuff. One day, I went crazy and bought a few of the band's ... read more

Pros: Staind's ballads and Lewis's emotionally charged lyrics strike deep and often, for tremendous effect. Cons: Staind's metal days are history, but with failed attempts here, that may be a positive
Summary: Staind flew out of the gates strongly with their major record debut Dysfunction in 1999. By 2001, many hard rock and metal fans were foaming at the mouth in anticipation for their next release Break the Cycle. By the title alone, one may ... read more

Pros: Every song is a standout. Expression. Pain. Introspection Cons: 'Safe Place’
Summary: When you’re an up-and-coming metal band from Massachusetts, and your new CD suddenly sells over half a million copies in it’s first week of release, and spawns five hit singles, it’s probably a good reason to be genuinely surprised. Remember, this was ... read more

Pros: Good Vocals, lyrics great when done well. Cons: Lyrics absolutly disgusting when not done well. Aaron Lewis' Scream voice.
Summary: I only just picked this one up, 4 years after it’s release, What can I say, I’m cheap, and won’t pay more than $10 for an album. Either way, when I gave this album it’s first spin, I was disappointed, like many albums I’ve heard lately, but over time ... read more

Pros: Some honestly outstanding moments Cons: Too much of the album is cluttered with monotony and uninspired junk
Summary: Around 2001, the rock band Staind began to rapidly rise in popularity. The reasons are endless, but the fact that they had memorable hooks and tons of radio-play appeal just may have had a thing or two to do with it. I recall clearly when ... read more

Pros: A few potent tracks Cons: A lot of middling, subpar tracks; no one identity or sound for the band
Summary: There was a lot of breath held over the release of Staind's Break the Cycle. The band was riding a dual wave -- an underground tide from the success of their heavy debut, Dysfunction, at the same time as ... read more

Pros: lyrics, true to the emotions that are being conveyed Cons: some of the erm..."bellowing/screaming"
Summary: Hmm...blessing. From all the pop sh!t that is cramming my radio- that's exactly what Staind is doing. Saving me from more syruppy pop-synth garbage that is coming around in a never ending apocolyptic shmorgasborg. Well, with that being said, let's find ... read more

Pros: Great sound, great lyrics, great beats... Cons: Couple weak parts.
Summary: I remember first hearing these guys a few years ago on the radio when I first heard Mudshovel. I loved that song, the bass was awsome and I believed Staind had talent, although they had alot of emotions to go with that. Sadness and anger are their true ... read more

Pros: Good hard rock with real songwriting and genuine emotion. Cons: A few mediocre moments.
Summary: I first heard of Staind back in 2000 just as their debut album Dysfunction was taking off. The song "Mudshovel" was receiving quite a bit of airplay on radio and MTV and the album was a huge success. I liked the single, yet the rest of the album didn't ... read more

Pros: Great emotion in the songs. Cons: Couple songs are slightly too hard for me.
Summary: I like many types of music ranging from Jazz to Metallica to TheyMightBeGiants. I would say if you are wondering what style of music this is I would compare their sound to Creed although they are a bit darker. I like most of Creeds stuff. This albmun ... read more

Pros: Powerful lyrics. A new side of StainD. Cons: Very mellow, grab a box of Kleenex.
Summary: "Wow," was the only thing I could say when I first listened to this album. The lyrics and music combined showed that even slower rock music can be extremely powerful. It strayed away from the hardness of their first album, but their music did not ... read more

Pros: good lyrics, good songs, emotion and heartfelt pain Cons: a little repetitive at times
Summary: I was wrong. There I said it. I was W-R-O-N-G about this band. I wrote them off, figuring they'd have a hit or two and disappear into the abyss with past one hit wonders like Marcy Playground (that my friends, was justice!), and ... read more

Pros: Thought provoking and emotionally exhaustive Cons: Is it just me or did they already play that?
