Pros: No emissions, ease of upkeep, no noise, cool factor
Cons: multiple passes required, can't cut tall grass or runners
I have used it about a year on 2 small yards, one burmuda grass and one is st. augustine. I wanted low maintanance, low emissions mowing and that is exactly what I got. I've never had to do anything for upkeep, just grab and go. No noise, I can easily just stop walking and talk with the neighbors as they are passing by. Even the kids want to mow, but they're not quite big enough to push yet.
Sometimes I miss the gas rotary mower because the Brill can't handle anything tall - but since it is so easy I just roll over the yard more frequently. Also, it doesn't cut runners well - just rolls over them. It isn't as easy as a usual mower to get that golf course look because of the repetitive passes. But I'm willing to sacrfice these drawbacks for the ease of use, no gas required, and no emissions guilt - and I always get curious onlookers.
