Pros: Side-impact protection, potential to last from birth-5, comfortable, adjustable, very easy to use! Cons: may not fit rear-facing in some cars, fewer fabric choices than the britax marathon
I recently bought two Britax Boulevard car seats for my two-and-a-half-year-old twins. They were about to outgrow their Britax Roundabout car seats, and we were buying a second (new) car, and wanted to have car seats with LATCH (our Roundabouts were ...
Pros: Keeps that kid safe. Cons: HUGE and on the pricey side.
At 4 months my child outgrew his "basket" carseat. You know the type, Graco-made, easy to nap in while mom moved him from the house to the car to the grocery store and back. Faced with a looming giant, we headed off to the baby supercenter on a quest ...
Pros: Wonderful ease-of-use & comfort options combined with high weight/height limits make this one exceptional seat! Cons: It's heavy, but I managed as a 100# single mom to lug it through airports!
Let's start with a bit of background info.... I'm a bio-mom, step-mom, foster-mom & day-care provider. I've been through DOZENS of carseats (also excited to say that I'm getting my Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification in 2 months! *wink*) ...
Pros: Easy to use, comfortable, weight range, made in USA Cons: Cost
We recently had a serious accident and had to replace our Evenflo Triumph 5 convertible carseat. Babies R' Us did not carry the Triumph any longer, so we chose the other highly rated seat with side impact protection, the Britax Boulevard, since we ...
Pros: One of the safest around, side-impact protection, easy adjustments, a wide weight range. Cons: The cost, but can we really put a price on our children's safety?
What a fantastic convertible car seat! If you are looking for a safe, easy to use, comfortable car seat for your little one, this is it! We bought this for our son when he outgrew his infant carrier. We used it rear-facing for about 6 months, prior to ...
Pros: *Headrest is easy to adjust
*The seat is as secure as it gets.
Cons: *Crotch belt doesn't adjust
*Head rests get in the way
*The Regal isn't plush.
I purchased the Britax Boulevard last week for my 4 month old son who outgrew his Graco Snugride. (He's 18 pounds and with all his winter gear, I could barely buckle him in!) I planned on buying the Britax Decathlon or Marathon at Babies R Us, but once ...
Pros: Velcro strap holders, HUGS system, Side Impact Protection head rest Cons: Very large, expensive
Wow! That sums it up for this seat. This is by far the easiest seat to use hands down. I purchased this after spending 4 months coping with the twisted straps on my Evenflo Triumph DLX. I didn't want to spend the extra money on this one even though ...
Pros: Love how you do not have to take the straps apart to adjust height. Cons: well it is heavy to carry, but that really is not a major complaint.
So after our 22 pound 5m old was height and weight ready to move out of his britax companion, we looked for the next best carseat Britax offers. Britax had two models that topped our list. The boulevard and the decathalon. Both are about the same price, ...
Pros: Very Durable, Padded, Easy to clean. Cons: Heavy, Straps Always Twist, Doesn't work well w/ small/medium sized cars.
I purchased this car seat with the understanding that it was the best available... Don't get me wrong, its nice... but I prefer the $50 car seat in my husband's car. This seat is huge- there is very little room when placing child in car (medium sized sedan), heavy, and the straps are constantly getting tangled (which I was told NEVER happens when I was at the store I purchase it from), and my son's head is always slumped forward when he falls asleep in it- headrests are for what now? And the choice of colors- well there is not much.
BUT: It is more padded than most other car seats, LATCH system is great, parts and covers are very easy to remove and wash. The recline options are great, and it is compatible for flying also.
Pros: Safest on the market (so, "they" say). Who is "they?" Cons: My son is not comfortable. He is unable to sleep since his head flops forward.
It took me 3-weeks of investigating. I read so many reviews on different car seats until it started to drive me crazy. All the reviews ended with, "I, then, bought the Britax and it was worth the money. So, I finally decided to buy the "Top-of-the-line" convertible car seat. I was so excited to get my first born the BEST. BOY, was I dissapointed. He tried to fall asleep in his new car seat for the 1st time today and his poor little head slumped forward and he kept waking up. I had to hold his head the ENTIRE RIDE HOME. We're going to look at other car seats today. I bought it on-line and it's not worth the shipping to send it back. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY. We're gonna look at the Even Flo Trimph, which is 2nd best.
THE BEST SEAT YOU CAN BUY ANYWHERE. by jns3 ,Jan 20 '07
Pros: Adjustable head support.
Lobster claw latch hooks in place of hook. Cons: It is big and heavy, but so is a tank.
Yes $300 is double what you would expect to spend on a good car seat. My boys are priceless. I did my homework and have owned 3 other car seats.
This should be the model for all car seats. It has a steel frame to hold it together in case of the worst. This seat is the most advanced in safety and comfort features.
When I bought this seat, there were 4 other parents buying cheap seats, I hope they never need the best seat you can buy.
Pros: Ease of use. 5-pt. harness system. Use up to 65 lbs. Cons: Vision obstruction.
Easy to use. 5-pt harness is a definite plus. Height of product obstructs vision of driver in rear view mirror when installed in center of back. If installed on either side, the same is a problem. This comment concerns the installation in a SUV.
Excellent - the only car seat I trust for my children by sylmarino ,Dec 06 '06
Pros: Sturdy Cons: A little expensive, but worth it.
I trust Britax as a brand as they adhere to European safety standards which are much more stringent that US standards. The car seat is durable, easy to clean, easy to install and keeps the kids safe!
Pros: ease of use, comfy, very safe Cons: none, unless you count price, but isn't your baby worth it
I love this seat. It has the True Side Impact Protection, Is very comfy, my daughter loves it. We bought this chair for her before she was born and it has been the only one we have used. It works well for newborns, although we did have to buy one of those head support inserts. At first I had a Ford Focus and it fit just fine in that car, and now have a mini van and have had no problems there. I love how easy it is to install. I clean out my car every week and it really takes me about 3 minutes to get it out and reinstall it. It is very secure. I would never buy any other seat
Safe and comfy, we love it. by bridgecross ,Oct 15 '07
Pros: Safe, comfortable, easy to install. Cons: Large, very large. Also has only 2 recline settings, wish there were more.
We upgraded to this seat from our infant-only Combi seat. I was concerned that this would not fit my Honda Civic, but it goes in quite nicely. Yes it's big and the back seat is now nearly filled, but hey I have a compact car so that's what you get. Besides a smaller car seat would give me only 1 or 2 extra inches on each side. There is just enough room for my wife to sit beside the seat (caveat; my wife is very slim). In exchange for losing all the space, we get a safe, comfy, easy-to-use seat. I especially like that the top tether can be used in rear-facing mode, although not everyone will like the straps running through the space from the seat back to the tether point.
I should also mention that when we eventually turn the seat forward-facing we get a bit more room in the back.
