Pros: Classic, flavorful American brown ale Cons: None come to mind
Whenever I head off to the beer store, the first thing I always look for is a new beer, something I haven't tried before. That's a big part of the fun of being a beer lover, but there's more to it than that. I also look back over beers I've enjoyed...

Pros: Subtle complexity. Cons: None
As the holiday season winds down I figured it was time to reflect on a couple of the beers I had the pleasure of tasting. The past year has been a time of transition for my taste buds, a year when my beer of choice has migrated from the mass produced...

Pros: outstanding brown ale Cons: often gets neglected
This is one of those brews that takes me on a stroll down Memory Lane. I have often harped on the early micros. There was a time when the American microbreweries were like the US Marine Corp: The few, the proud. Sam Adams, Anchor, Pete's, Sierra ...

Pros: Sweet, malty taste; crisp finish Cons: flavor could've been stronger; heavy body
My favorite beer of all time is Newcastle Brown Ale, and as much as I like the brown ale style, I rsquo;ve yet to find an American counterpart that can compare. Brooklyn Brown Ale comes remotely close with a sweet, crisp taste, but I think it could have ...

Pros: A rich and complex brown ale Cons: Not to be sipped on its lonesome
The Brooklyn Brown Ale is a much darker brown than the traditional British Brown Ales, like Newcastle or Sam Smith's. And the taste follows the darkness, with this beer being a much richer and more highly malted Brown Ale than its British counter-parts....

Pros: complex, aromatic, chocolaty Cons: none
The Brooklyn Brewery has come out with another success. The Brooklyn Brown Ale is a complex, aromatic, creamy, heavily-hopped meal in a glass. The underlying hint of chocolate blends in well with the creamy, dark ale taste. The wet aftertaste is moderate...

Pros: Strong & crisp flavor Cons: can't think of any
I found it dark & hoppy.... creamy too.... I love the taste & the crispness! I think this is a nachos or chicken wing kind of beer... This is definitely for a person who likes darker, stronger tasting beers. It's not too heavy, but definitely...

Pros: Smooth, flavorful Cons: none
I usually don't order brown ales. Not that I don't like them, usually I do. But the problem is, I think, that it is such a staple of the micro-brewery that EVERYONE seems to do one and I have had SO many bad ones. REALLY bad. "Not finish...

Pros: well-balanced, nice malt flavor Cons: hard to find
I tend to avoid microbrew brown ales, since so many of them are mediocre. They tend to be overly sweet without much character, like somebody just dumped some extra malt into a bottle of Pale Ale right before they put the cap on.
But Brooklyn...

Pros: Great taste, stays fresh in glass, good for all seasons Cons: Hard to find
I find this a very rich, pleasant dark ale. Creamy, not bitter.....one bottle can be sipped and enjoyed for a while without losing its fresh taste unlike some other beers that seem like you have to drink in a hurry or they change. It is also not a...

Pros: Midway between a brown and a bitter, captivating! Cons: Availability
This beer is a show off. Its red-amber colour leads to a café-au-lait coloured head that is stable and quiet and leaves considerable lace.
The overall aroma is overwhelming freshness, floral hops and roasted grain with toffee overtones.

Pros: heavier body than most brown ales Cons: limited distribution
On one of my excursions out of state (of North Carolina, not my mind), I came across a six pack of this beer in the cooler. I have tried a few of Brooklyn's other brews and was always satisfied and this one didn't let me down either. It has a heavier...
